David Tennant confirmed as Doctor Who

the actor who plays Barty Crouch Jr. in Goblet of Fire had been considered for a role in the British TV series "Doctor Who".

In a press release marking the news, the head of the BBC drama is quoted as saying:

"David Tennant is a great actor who will build on the excellent work already done by Christopher in establishing Doctor Who for a new generation.
