well,every award has become a joke now,nothing new.we question the authorities,they dont relent.happens every year.just sit back and chill.the fact of the matter is he got a padmashri.twitter comments r always rude,for ny1,evry1.

Because they are getting awarded for contribution to their own field.

Actually it raising you as an actor..you are not just enjoying your stardom but USING your stardome to give back to either the industry or society.

You as a Saif fan would know if he has done anything yet?

For all who are saying that Saif got it and let him enjoy it....well if he can sleep with a very clear conscious then he shoudl enjoy his awards..but now atleast the public around him would congrats him but behind his they will DO DISCUSS how the awrds were given like biscuits to him...

He did get the award but the publics views and comments has made it little for him. Thats all the purpose for it...."You got it dude but just to let you know you did not get it on your merit - Enjoy."

Hope next year we will see better selection of candidates....

The National Awards are a big joke, just like the various other filmy awards!

There has always been lobbying in the Award Committee! There used to be a time when the jury used to be comprised of Malyalees, and every single National Award used to go blindly to Malayalam Films and Actors (Some of them were exceptionally deserving, so I am not making a blanket statement against the one's who truly deserved it!) Then the jury was comprised mainly of Bengali's and most of the awards seemed to go to Bengali movies and actors (Once again, loads of well-deserving artists also got their due amongst the one's who were unfairly promoted!)

Now I guess the National Award Jury is comprised of people with strong bollywood connections or in anycase influenced by politicians who are under the charm of our lovely bollywood actors and hence all the major awards have gone to actors from the Mumbai Film Industry!

No one takes these awards seriously and they don't make any impact on an actor's career or status amongst his or her fans! Most of India's population has no clue about the National Awards, since it is telecast on Doordarshan and is never advertised or promoted!

In anycase, it is no fault of the actors, if there is politics everywhere and people always play favorites! As long as there is one more bronze statue to add to the collection, anything goes!!!

PS : Just for information purposes, Sharmila Tagore is a member of the National Film Awards and IFFI Expert Committee! There seemed to be some debate on it in the thread somewhere! But she is just one of many others, so its not like she drugged everyone else and forced them to give the Padma award to her son! 😆

PPS : Raj Thackrey is a racist pig and his comments should either be completely ignored or taken with a sackful of salt!

Oh wow...they're gonna have debates on this now?! Okay this is a bit much. Sure some feel it was unfair, but why is everyone making such a huge deal? And I didnt know Twitter was capable of so much negativity that it reached to newspaper and media. Why does the aam junta care SO much? I know I don't.
