Pegged to be Bollywood's next big superstar, Ranbir Kapoor wants nothing or no one to come in his way as he achieves this success.
But it looks like Ranbir's next release Prakash Jha's Rajneeti is giving him a cause to worry.
"Ranbir plays a very different role in this film. It is a clear departure from the chocolate boy, lover boy roles he has played so far. In fact one of the scenes in the movie will shock all his fans!" says a friend of the star.
The scene in question is an extremely violent one.
"As opposed to Ranbir being at the receiving end in this violence, it is Ranbir who will be carrying out a scene of extreme sexual violence. It had taken him days to mentally prepare himself to shoot for this scene," says the friend, "And now Ranbir is worried about how his audiences will react."
"A large portion of Ranbir's fan following consists of kids who loved him films like Ajab Prem ki Gazab Kahani and now when they will see him in this kind of role so early into his career, Ranbir isn't sure how the reaction will be. Both Neetu and Rishi Kapoor have been telling him that he has no reason to worry but Ranbir is quite stressed out. He even spoke to his director (Prakash Jha) to see if there was any ways they could remove or atleast edit a major portion of the scene," adds the friend.
Prakash Jha's Rajneeti is a political drama that stars Katrina Kaif, Ajay Devgan, Ranbir Kapoor and Manoj Bajpai. Many within the industry suggest that Rajneeti has Katrina essaying the life of Sonia Gandhi.
