January 15, 2010 Written Update
Jyoti gives a long lecture to her interviewer on the power of women, and how that despite issues in her marriage, she still wears sindoor of Pankaj's name. The man seems unperturbed, and she leaves. At home, all are disappointed hearing the interview didn't go down too well and KK brings up a job opening of a dance teacher that he read in the newspaper today. Jyoti is hesitant after realizing the job is at the same college where Pankaj works, but with everyone's insistence, she agrees to try. Padma passes a sarcastic comment on how that if 2 people are earning, atleast their condition wud be better.
After reviewing her qualifications, the interviewer, Mrs. Dixit, tells Jyoti to come back tomorrow to pick up her appointment letter. Jyoti is happy and leaves. The second interviewer tells Mrs. Dixit that Jyoti is the wife of Pankaj Vashisht. Mrs. Dixit tells him that it makes no difference. 2 students catch Jyoti leaving and comment on her. They go into Pankaj's class and talk abt how Jyoti applied for a job in the same college as Pankaj so she can woo him back. Pankaj storms into the main office saying that if Jyoti were to be hired, he wud quit. They decide to not appoint Jyoti, otherwise they wud no longer receive funds from the Vashishts. The next day when Jyoti reaches there, she is told that she didn't get the job' and she also overhears the same 2 students talking abt how Pankaj got her application cancelled.
Jyoti rushes into Pankaj's office, and expresses her extreme disgust in him, and that he has really changed as person. He ignores her, and she leaves. When she comes home, she breaks the bad news to the family' but they bring up the idea of Jyoti starting her own dance school. All seem excited about this idea, but a disappointed Jyoti walks away. End.
Precap: Jyoti is bringing tea out to Kalpana and the Sharmas' when she suddenly faints. Later, Kalpana tells the family that she's not sure whether this news is good or bad for them right now' but it's her responsibility to let them know.
Comments: Today's episode seemed lifted off of some lame, cliche Hindi movie. Jyoti's dialogues to the weird interviewer guy was so unnecessary, it was obvious that whatever she said made no difference to him. And I don't know where they're going to go with the whole Jyoti's own dance school idea' the first thing you need for that is $$$ - wonder where they'll get that from?
