I've read it, in my opinion it was garbage. I say it's not worth it, and I have no clue what the people who raved the book was reading, but I would give the book a 2 stars.
If you've read Twilight, it was like the watered-down verison.
Except, the author is Team Jake.
When it was coming out, no one was more excited them me, but when I read it, boy was I disappointed. Throughtout the book I wanted to stop and toss it, but I have OCD thing where once I start I have to finish bcz my mind thinks what if it gets better and I miss out. But I should have stopped, it was horrible!
The idea was great, the book had so much potential, it was a huge let down. The idea of people turning into the wolf because it was cold, sounded new and cool. But they writing, the editing, the story was total nonsense.
I know the main point of the book was romance, but I did not find it romatic at all, instead it was very bland. Grace in a lot of ways is like Bella, she falls in love out of nowhere (sure Sam saves her, but she's doesn't know him at all). She loved him as wolf and throughout the book wished she was a wolf herself, (what?!) I get if you love this human with abilities but she loved and fantasized about a wolf!
Also as a wolf Sam loved Grace, which again made no sense. They truely loved each other, it's true, but how and who they fell in love with makes no sense and bores you, and drives you insane (at least to me).
Overall total disappointment, I really wanted to love it, but I just couldn't because Shiver has nothing going for it except the romance, and the romance was not at all believable or interesting.
It was so ridiculous, I don't know what the publishers thought when they said we'll do your book. I know it sounds mean, but seriously, they saw the parallelness to Twilight (which is so obvious) and thought hey this could be the next huge thing. Sadly, it's far from that! Honestly, don't waste your time on this book, if you still want to read it, by all means, but I am warning you, it's not as wonderful as everyone claims......
But then again just my 2 cents, Dhruvi (:
