yeah even I can try and understand .. long time back even ramas said the same. But I would've rather preferred if it came from Abhi than we understanding.. thats a glitch in my mind which is going to stay for a long long time ... I can look over it, but it is going to stay in my head!
...thats right, that kind of love is sweet and long lasting than the ones where facial beauty is involved!

It's frustrating but I am beginning to understand that this is not just a problem with team, but with creatives teams in general throughout India. The concept of falling in love is something they do not understand. I believe that in a society where traditional rules of marriage did not involve falling in love, the idea of discovering what is really love is still not understood by some of the writers. We never actually see her fall in love with him, but we see him fall in love with her. Then, with TRNEBDJ, we see the guy fall in love with a girl (based on her looks), and she falls in "love" with him because he is a nice guy, but we never see her actually get an "attraction" as well. In both stories the love was very one-sided.

If we see such poor work in movies which are written by some of the better writers, we will see less from a creative team. Add that in with a society that is discovering "love" outside of an arranged marriage and you will see such weakness in a storyline. Of course, let us also include an unwillingness to listen or expand horizons.

Very rarely in Indian Movies the whole reason of falling in love/discovering love is handled. I too have seen both the movies that you have mentioned.
Its not that all these writers are old people. I heard 'Wake up Sid' was the brain child of director Ayaan Mukherji when he was all of 19 or 22. Conceptually it was good, but when it translated on screen, it wasn't. There is no reason given why Sid likes this elder girl and the girl starts to like Sid when she thinks that he is better (not forcing her to be one like him) than her own boss for whom she had the hots initially?! Later Sid realising that he loves this girl? I wasn't convinced at all.
There is one more to that list that I recently saw on TV - Kismat Konnection! OMG!! I was like - how can a girl knowingly like a guy whose reason for liking her was just bcos she proved lucky to him everytime he had bumped with her and in fact he always ended up fighting with her ?! He loves her when the tarot card readers points that she is lucky for him! Oh! that was a mess of an idea according to me!!

Very few movies I can remember for their love stories - 'Teezri Manzil', old 'Hathyaar', DDLJ, recently Jodha Akbhar, where they handled falling in love slowly. About 6 yrs back I had seen a movie - 'Mr and Mrs. Iyer'. It was an unusual kind of situation, very possible in real life. I knew Mrs. Meenakshi Iyer is a married women and even has a baby and know that it was a wrong thing to do, but towards the end, I so much wanted her to run away with this muslim co-passenger whom she saves. But that doesn't happen. I was so sad for days after watching this movie and to this date, it always is there at the back of my head.
The love stories in Pride and Prejudice, Emma .. wow so good, can't forget them.

Most of the movies start from the fact that hero, heroine are in love or fall in love(with no reason).
That is the reason why I look forward to TV serials. TV serials as compared to movies have the time and resources. Their lead pairs aren't running away anywhere and time is not a constraint at all.
They could handle the falling in love part as they wish, they can take all the time they want and do it slowly and even viewers would love to watch such things so, they needn't worry about TRPs.
I thought KB had that scope, bcos the background of both the lead pairs was unusual and an elder girl-younger boy was never experimented on TV, they could have done wonders with these 2 unusual characters.

Arre, ramas being a non-professional writer had written much better in her FF, atleast I was convinced, though she made Abhi blurt out his feelings (though too early) in front of everyone after the jagraata episode.
Atleast I as a reader came to know what was in Abhi's mind. Thats how sometimes it is in real. You just blurt out things which you shouldn't. Here he was telling, "why do you think Simi I am doing all this for you, I am actually in love with you, can't you understand that?!!"
Instead in the show, Abhi is not communicating his thoughts to the viewer and I had no clue if the attraction he had was in fact love. Its not just once, but so many times he had the opportunity to say what was there in his mind to the viewer. I'll have to give link to my whole 'The Dis-connect' thread!

Anita:
Lets see, how do I start here, Generally in TV serials a character is either black or white i.e either positive or negative. The positive character always does only good things and the negative does only the bad.
But people in real life are not like that. Everyone have good as well as bad characteristics but the percentage varies from person-to-person and as well as according to situation. A person P who is good to A, could be bad to B and sensible person P who is good A can be bad to B as per situation.

When I look at KB characters, I feel the characters RS, MS, Anuj, Anita, the changed Neetu, Vicky, the 3 neighbor women, reflect characters in real life (based on my experiences).
I have excluded Simi and Abhi. I don't think there is 100% Simi or 100% Abhi in real life! RB is a funny character and I am not sure if that is real again. I do not know much about Mili, RB's mom, Nakul, Dadi, Tarneja and Anusha. Nothing much is shown to conclude on them.
Even RS's brother and Dolly chachi according to me aren't real.

Like I have posted previously, I had this warning level raised in my mind for Anita's character when I saw her talking in Sethi household when she comes there running away from home.

The halwa scene where Anita is part of, did mellow the warning level a bit, but her playfulness with her brother Abhi did nothing to me.
I don't know why, but I knew in my mind this character would turn out to be like this and its really sad she has and each and every of her hurtful dialogue sounds every bit real to me.

Sometime I am amazed at Anita's thought - like she says that Rs.1L is hers!,
When I compare this character to the other negative characters in other shows, this one looks real! Maybe its because of the dialogues, in that case, the writer has done a superb job on that character.
Anita is not bad to all - she is good to her husband, her father, her mother and she thinks that she is trying to save her brother from the 'low-minded', 'lower-class' type of girl.
Sometimes to win, if one has to resort to doing bad, they will not hesitate and she is just doing that. In the need to win, they forget where to draw the line and lose the sense of wrong from right.
It is basically she was always a selfish person, the selfishness is coming out more when in time of her need. She just wanted Anuj (do not know whats the story prior to their love) and she put all her efforts, held everyone's leg to get that happen.
At that time, people didn't take it seriously. Now when her selfishness is hurting the main leads, you think the character has changed! I disagree to that.
Its just that her percentage of badness has increased because of her agenda and the writer is concentrating more on that part.
Kudos to the actor to take up such a character and she makes it look so real to me.

Even after writing so much, I feel I haven't done justice, ah!

Anita is again snooping in Abhi's room and as expected Abhi comes back, but it is Anita who won this game. She was able connive Abhi and escape with the pretext that she was in his room to watch TV.
Brother-sister feelings of now and past are out in open. So, Anita was good to Abhi all these years. Anita accepts that it was only Abhi whom she could trust when she needed most.
But currently she doesn't like whatever he is doing. Like I had said before, she wanted only Anuj from the Sethis and she got him and she didn't wanted to do anything with the rest of the Sethis and she expects the same from Abhi.

But whatever she said is true in a way about how Abhi in the process of helping the poor can only think like them. The way I take that is - Only those who know what pain is, either going through the pain themselves or truly helping others, in pain would understand what pain is. Abhi doesn't find anything wrong in helping the needy and doesn't have any problem accept the regular middle-class people as one like him. When he sees the Sethis, he doesn't measure them with their bank balance.

At their parting I hoped Abhi would get the hint what Anita is eyeing on - the Sethi Nivas and she even claims that its more Anuj's than the 3 sisters (I wonder how? I am not aware of the Indian latest law, but I think all children get property distributed equally in the absence of a Will).
I was also thinking, then in that case, by her same argument, T mansion would be more Abhi's than Anita's!
So, madam Anita now knows Abhi likes Simi. Hmm.

Oh Neetu is getting ridiculous now. If she doesn't like Simi, then why use her phone?! Doesn't she have any self-respect?! eww ! After opening going against Simi, can't she think - why whould Simi show any sympathy to her now whether she waiting for Vicky's phone call for 4 hrs or for eternity?
But Simi was thinking practically and asked the right question if Vicky agreed to marry or not?!
This is all I had in my mind today for Neetu - Girl, you are going to get very badly and you would remember this and cry and there would not be anyone to help you!!

Abhi very easily could bend RB and tricked his own bodygaurd to get the work done.

Ah... Simi is day-dreaming about Abhi now!! She remember Abhi and wants him to meet her. Oh cho cweet ... and then there she is typing that beautiful, playful rhyming lines in SMS.
Loved that SMS and once again loved the way KB uses SMSes!

The message reaches with the beep, Anita knows its Simi's, quickly out of the room and waiting outside to listen and listen she does and gets the next opportunity to work on her next action item - if Simi has anything to do with Abhi or if it is just one-sided?

Abhi's expressions were awesome and reply playful too.

It was exactly how a person who has no knowledge that the other can write such lines would have when he reads that! RB signs the letter resigning from the post of Secretary of KTA. So, since when Secretary's had the last word on such things? If I understand correctly, President is at the highest level in such Associations. Ah well, I may have to close my eyes and ears and believe if creatives say so.

Simbhi in the park. We get to know that RB has also signed the order to reopen 'Sethi and Sons'. So, RS's store would be open. At this moment I was thinking about Shanti's poll that she had just started yday, so, the poll was timely. But would there be any other issue like they say - a slip between the cup and the lip?
More so because I know very well Anita is lurking somewhere there and listening to all these.

Oh what did Abhi say - Mujhe kyaa hoga, main to tumhare saath hoon naa. Abhi, I have to disagree with you here. Look at yourself, you had such a nice no-tension life prior to meeting this girl and you can't see what has happened/ what more is coming your way? Don't be that confident, your sister is planning to acquire Sethi Nivas and that also would be your problem!!

Their playfulness, teasing was good and the background song ("bhaage re mann kahin" from film 'Chameli') during their running around tree was as if was written for this moment.
Oh Simi pulls Abhi towards her as if she has all the rights..thats interesting ...Abhi once again assures Simi that once the store is opened, he would ask for Simi from RS as RS had promised that he would give anything in retrun of the store opening.
As expected, Anita is right there and listening and the whole puzzle is solved for her. But she can't believe whats happening and despising the entire thing!

Oh BTW, these two were so happy and could have very well even hugged, but it was so obvious the creatives didn't wanted to overdo it bcos they had Anita hovering on them!!

It was nice to see Simi forgetting all her pain and blushing on hearing Mrs. Abhinav Tarneja and Abhi saying that nobody can stop that from happening, not even your kismat(ill fate)!! Abhi, you must have forgotton Nakul! Simi you too! Ok, let me not scare them, let them be happy, it was after so long they were so happy with each other's presense.

Again, not sure why the creatives are rushing too fast... they could have played some games with Anita. I would have loved to see her losing atleast a few more times and then coming to know the actual fact between Simi-Abhi. She came to know too easily. Looks like Creatives don't believe in copying other serial (on how to drag!)

BTW, Abhi changes so many clothes in a single episode, which was all about happenings in a single day!! Hmm...

Now it is to be seen what Anita and Anuj are going to do with this information.

Luckily today he was in the shower and when h came out he was in time to get the phone and Anita again missed picking it Yipeee but she did get to kn ow the SMS converation and landed at the place !!!
