Yes, Neetu is the only hope now. Not sure if Abhi will get RB involved too (like it is dicussed in other thread).. he better not, else it would become another issue for Simbhi.
Sethis are the hero-heroines of this show, so all problems have to happen to them only😊. How can they show villians/vamps having problem. It is the same formula in all the shows, so, KB is no different there. Thats why it looks to the viewers - bechara Abhi, yeh tune kyaa kiya, sabko chodkar tune ek Sethi ladki se pyaar kiya. See, Anita knows Sethis are problems, thats why she doesn't want either one of them for Abhi!😉

I thought I will quickly jot down my views before its too late. I had this in my mind after seeing last thursday's episode.

This is what I thing the track is currently going towards:
Vicky is not Omi. Vicky is a Duggal and Omi a Dagar.
IMO, Omi must be a mentally challeneged person, hence Dadi and Nakul didn't bring them along to see the girl(s) and want to hide him.
So, Dadi's plan is to get both girls married to the same family, so that if the reality is revealed after marriage, Omi's wife cannot run away leaving Omi as Nakul's wife would be her sister and he would not want to jeopardise sister's life.
But, since Neethu is preg and says she loves Vicky, she will run away from home to get married to him. Because of this, Dadi's plan is "broken" and that way Simi will be spared from Nakul.

Manju has already challeneged Neethu to show if she can ran away and this is exactly what she is going to do. When Manju said those words, I don't think she meant her to really run away, even though in her own words she wanted the girls to find their own partners.
Manju is a confused lady (in real mother with 3 unmarried daughters with 1 who is 30, would be like this only, so creators doing a good job there), at one place she praises Anita bcos she found her own life partner and spared her parents from "looking" a groom for her and in the other place she is not happy that Neethu got a guy who is "capable" of buying expensive clothes for Neethu. So, that makes Vicky is rich guy in manju's eye, so, why not Vicky for Neethu.
Same applies to what Manju thinks if Abhi too. Now that Anuj mentions Abhi is a grown up man walking around in the house of 3 unmarried girls, Manju should be happy if tomorrow kuch aisa waisa ho gaya tho, na?

Coming to Simi and Abhi, yeah I too agree that the feeding each other scene looked more like mother-son interaction, but I think Simi cannot concentrate on Abhi until Neethu's problem is resolved.
Simi sent Abhi to get the hing because she realised it was Abhi's doing and she was admonishing Abhi that way, plus, the creators wanted Abhi is have a look from the door how Nakul fell head over heals on Simi in just 1 glance.

Now, to why Mili is smiling (ref a diff thread). The girls are protrayed to be from sanskaari garelu types, so, Mili is just being nice to the Dagar family. Remember even though she is shown to be a no-nonsense pataka type girl, she feels disgusted that her mother wants Simi to marry RB even after knowing the truth, but she never puts up a fight up with her mother to stop that marriage.
Same applied to Simi - why Simi is smiling to the Dagar family (ref a diff thread). She is just being nice to show how nice sethi family is, mainly RS here.

Anita. She totally forgot that marriage not just a bond between 2 individuals but between 2 families. She just wanted Anuj from Sethi's family and she got him. She doesn't want anything to do with the rest of the sethis.
Until she was married, she had to impress Anuj's family, now that she is married, she doesn't have to impress anyone. She is OK, if the sethi girls are her 'Nanad', but she would not tolerate is they are her 'Bhabhi'. If they are 'Nanad', they are her husband's relatives. If they become 'bhabhi' they will become her relatives, which she doesn't want. As they do not match her level.
She has already seen Simi in Abhi's arms twice.
Though she is in Abhi's arms accidently, she has seen Simi to be 'enjoying' being there. It is not just few second of being in arms, but camera is revolving around for few minutes.. so the charatacter that she is, she definitely can grow suspicious. I know too many people in real life who sort of fall in this category.
Anita has to be a trouble for Simi-Abhi. Yes, I agree the actor who is playing Anita is really doing a good job. I noted that when she without any hestitation could cut off Anuj from doing anything on their 1st night.

I don't know if I missed anything else.

Based on the above thinking, I think the story is developing in all those directions. Yes, too many things are happening at the same time but it is all required for the creators of the story to be able to break Simi-Nakul's impending marriage.
If the creators do a better job than my thinking, then I will appreciate them, else I will get again dejected!

Bee, some excellent points. I like the idea of Omi being mentally challenged. The point makes sense that by getting two sisters married, it acts like insurance. Mrs. Tarneja probably knew all of this and if this family associates with her high society friends, she certainly couldn't recommend the family to them. This might explain why she picked the Seethis. For them this would be a great rishta since the family is so well to do.
And there is certainly the possiblity that Anita doesn't want to risk an affair between Abhi and the other girls and I believe already suspects something is going on between Abhi and Simi - at least from Abhi's side.
I guess she will be the one to see them at India Gate, if that episode does air. Who knows, it might soon now that Abhi and Simi cannot meet. I wonder how Simi agrees to it since she's always going on about how she can't meet with him in public.

I agree, Simi is occupied with Neetu's predicament, but I really think it is not a strong enough basis for her to hold off from showing some feelings towards Abhi.

The writers better do something to fill in the gaps as to who Abhi went from chatting on the phone with her to falling in love and wanting to marry her. I am still not satisfied.

Yes, the Abhi-Simi gaps need to be filled .. but story is developing at a fast pace in all directions that 30mins doesn't seem to be enough!!
They could have still taken everything a bit slowly. Manju might be looking for prospective groom but Nakul's entry and Vicky-Neetu story could have come in at a later time. They could have shown that Manju is trying very hard - they could have filled 2-3 episodes with that part. Meanwhile they could have given us some Simbhi moments and also slowly revealed how/when/why Abhi fell for Simi.
And Laila you are right, that is the reason why Anita's mom, Anusha, hasn't referred the Dagar to anyone from her society and that also explains why a 32yr old is still unmarried, the Dagars are looking for 2-for-1 offer!

Sometime back when we(some of us) were so dissatisfied with Abhi's confession, I thought creatives could show why and how Abhi fell in love with Simi.
Some members posted how they wanted creatives to handle(could have handled) that.

That time I had written, If not a Simbhi date, they could have very well extended the phone conversation that night and had Abhi tell Simi how and when his attraction turned into love.
Since that phone conversation was already a done deal, we were never going to get what I wanted.

Later I felt in future least they could still handle that part by having Abhi ponder over how and when he really fell in love with Simi. Something like -
"Abhi is in his room, sitting and working on his laptop and then he is unable to concentrate much on his work and starts to think about Simi.
Then he sits back on the chair with his eyes closed and thinking out aloud and asking himself - yes, I know I was attarcted to you Simi when I saw you 1st time at the shrine, but when did this really happen to me, when did I fall in love with you, was it when you hugged me so tightly trying to escape from RB, or was it when I saw you coming to meet me at Qutub Minar .. or .."
something along those lines... so that as a viewer I would be satisfied.

Today when I saw the scene when they show Abhi writing a Diary.. my hopes were raising high.. I thought - there, looks like creatives are going to give me exactly(or similar to) what I wished for...only to get dejected one more time.
But anyway, that scene was good because Abhi was communicating his feeling to the viewers atleast now.. this is exactly what was required way back then!!

I've never been against the fact that he said is his love instead it opens the doors of concern coming as I have said in various posts Simi is the victim and the savior Abhi, I know say when Abhi is falling in love with Simi said that reflecting on the strength saved to be close to the shoulder and she argues they need to nurture a sense of belonging to each other. I appreciate the short story and I'm less frustrated now that I really understood what the producer frame must be patient lol

23rd Dec 09

After quiet a few episodes, I really liked today's episode from start to finish!! Hurray!!

Here are my thoughts -

As expected Simi once again takes the blame and saves Neetu from Manju when questioned about the pregnancy test kit.
One should not miss the expression of relief on Neetu's face at that time.

On the dining table, Neetu's behaviour is exactly how it would happen in real. I have heard such things myself.
Yes, Neetu was this bubbly girl who cared less for anyone in this world and just waited for her hero.
Neetu falling instantly in love with Vicky though again not convincing for me, but maybe thats how a Jhalli would behave and aptly called that!
Guess people do become like Neetu when they fall in love and things don't work in their favor. Falling and being in love is a great feeling when everything works for them, but it doesn't they resent everyone and everything.
Thats exactly what Neetu is shown doing. Her resenting Simi is also because Simi is not sharing any of her own secrets and has complete knowledge of her mistakes.
This makes her look bad in front of Simi and thats the reason she has not told Simi about who really this Vicky is and she is in some way fighting with Simi that you are not all that pious that you seem to show yourself to be.

After a long time Abhi is shown to think about Simi in a convincing way as I get to know what his feelings are now (though it is after the missed part of his feelings of how n when he fell in love with Simi).

Loved the whole heated argument that happens between Abhi and Anita. God! he went out of the room to meet his dad leaving that dairy below the pillow which Anita had already seen! I was so tensed and holding my head!
But Thank God for that phone call from Simi for which Abhi returns and we are saved.

Once again, Simi is crying her heart out to Abhi, that was such a touching moment when she is desperately asking him to take her from there, again so that she isn't pain to others (one more of her selfless thoughts).
Abhi wants to do everything in his capacity to erase Simi's tears and make her happy.
Background song from film Victory(lyrics below) was beautiful and very aptly used though it did drag the episode.
(There was 1 more song later may be a punjabi one, I couldn't get the wordings)
It was good, Simi made that wish when she sees the shooting star as it is believed that such wishes do come true!

It was again one more emotional scene between RS and Simi. A father trying very hard to take away the hurt in Simi's heart caused by Neetu and sharing his own problems with his samajdhar daughter.
He again stresses the fact that he would believe her choice without any issues.
Unlike mother who is so insecure about her daughter's future, father very strongly believes that Simi would get a very good person who appreciates Simi for who she is and he as a father would consent to anyone whom she likes to marry. I am assured that Simi though went and met with Nakul, she has feelings only for Abhi.

Anita is making full use of her stay in the T mansion snooping around in Abhi's room to get to the bottom of Simi and Abhi connection.
Though Anita has already seen Simi's photograph in Abhi's diary, most probably Abhi comes in time and once again spoils Anita's effort and grabs the diary from her hand tomorrow.

Precap looks interesting where Abhi is shown to be making RB's life miserable in the sauna room(?).

A lot of you have written you aren't happy with the change of behavior in Anita's character.
For me its different. I saw Anita first time when she comes to live in Sethi's house against her father (yes, I have missed a lot of episodes in the beginning).
Though she was shown to be this innocent girl, making comments like "Mili I will take you to beauty parlour next time I go", or "Aunty I like your house but just these cushion covers need to change, then the curtains and then the furnitures".
I was wondering what would remain!!
I told myself, oh! I have to be very cautious of this girl, she isn't right for this household. Though her comments are innocent, these very things (materialistic things) can make her life miserable in this house.
Sure they did! That too from day 1!
Though she knew that it was Simi who convinced Mr. Tarneja I don't think she had any regard for Simi other than that.
Her behavior after marriage is nothing out of ordinary. (I have written on that in this same thread at the very beginning!).

Now that Neetu hasn't yet runaway from the hospital with Vicky, the sword on Neetu's head is still hanging.
When Sethi parents couldn't get the doc appointment for Neetu after her fainting, Manju tells Simi and Neetu that she will take Neetu for the checkup next week.

Hope Anita remembers what she had told her father the night she comes to live in T mansion - that they would be there for only 2-3 days!!

Finally got a feeling that all is not lost in KB yet!

Here are the lyrics of the song used in today's KB:

Meri Yeh Jaan, Mera Jahaan, Sab Kuch Mujhe, Tune Diya
Tokar Lagi, Mujhko Kabhi, Badke Mujhe, Thaam Liya
...
Aisa Toh Socha Na Tha, Aisa Bhi Hojaye Gaa
Yeh Mujhse Kya Hogaya, Yeh Maine Kya Kardiya
Dhuan Dhuan, Hai Har Jagha,
Ankhon Mein Jaane Yeh Kaisa Andhera Dhulaa
Anjaan Hai Aashnaa, Aisa Toh Socha Na Tha
Bikhare Pade, Hain Toot Ke, Chaha Tha Kya, Aur Kya Huaa

Wow Bee very nicely said !!!
I liked every word you spoke
I now think the reason why Abhi fell for Simi was she would first think abt others and then think abt herself but now she realised that she has had enough thinking abt others and she has actually thought about herself !! This kinda love is really so sweet !!!

Abt Anita I wonder why the Cv;s have made her such a vamp I hope the is a makeover on her character !

Bee, Well noted. Again the creative team let us down. It's frustrating but I am beginning to understand that this is not just a problem with team, but with creatives teams in general throughout India. The concept of falling in love is something they do not understand. I believe that in a society where traditional rules of marriage did not involve falling in love, the idea of discovering what is really love is still not understood by some of the writers. Some of them are from a time when their own marraiges were probably arranged. Moreover, they might confuse lust with love (we have seen this with the Neetu and Vicki romance).
The issue of "what is love?" still not clear even in Indian films - I saw two last year - Gajni and Tere Rab Ne Bana De Jodi. While I enjoyed both films, it was clear that neither one really had examined the issue of love very well. In the first, the character played by Aamir Khan proposes to the girl who decides to marry him just for the sake of getting married. We never actually see her fall in love with him, but we see him fall in love with her. Then, with TRNEBDJ, we see the guy fall in love with a girl (based on her looks), and she falls in "love" with him because he is a nice guy, but we never see her actually get an "attraction" as well. In both stories the love was very one-sided.
If we see such poor work in movies which are written by some of the better writers, we will see less from a creative team. Add that in with a society that is discovering "love" outside of an arranged marriage and you will see such weakness in a storyline. Of course, let us also include an unwillingness to listen or expand horizons.

Bee, today was a better episode than in recent days and I appreciate you indepth analysis. As always you bring a different perspective and interesting arguements as well. Regarding Anita, I did notice the points you made, but it did not give enough as to why she would slap her own brother, steal one lakh from her father-in-law and seek vegence on him. Her personality change was so quick (and unfounded), that the creative team has her own brother noticing the change.
Neetu's concept of love is "love in a fantasy world" and I hope the creative team does bring that to the forefront rather than continue to show the Neetu and Vicky relationship as an example of love.
