A common character arcade - a portrayal matching most of today's Indian youth - wants the good things in life but without the hard work. Has a selfish streak in him. Expects his parents to pay up for his lavish lifestyle all the time. The dad knows it all and tries to change his ways, to which he rebels.

He is scared of his father but openly critical of him behind his back. Spoilt big time by his mother, who protects him from any wrath and agrees on his whims and fancy. She covers all his folly, never stopping him or reprimanding him for his mistakes.

Marriage doesn't changes anything. Infact, it creates more problems because now his wife joins the bandwagon. She expects to be given the same treatment as him. Starts manipulating his mind from day one, and he does exactly as told by her to get their way through.

Many a time, the wife plots into her man's mind that his own family (mostly his own siblings) is his stark enemy and thus starts the conflict of issues and fights. He will fight, accuse them now of creating problems in his married life, not realizing his own folly.

Anuj is a boneless character, he would go and do anyone's bidding. He is critical of others but cannot accept any criticism of himself. Money is an important aspect for him. Loves being the center of attention, and would go to anyone or everyone if he sees trouble coming his way. But cannot expect him to pay in kind (help out really when others are in need). Whatever, help he'll offer would be highly superficial.

What an accentuating unremitting squalor of a man!

Hated his gut in the last scene where he downplays and pretends complete ignorance over his involvement in the FD issue.

Anuj is totally spineless! He didn't stop even once to consider what he was doing to his own father for his kal ki aayi hui wife! How can he slap his own sister???
He has watched his sisters grow up dressing conservatively yet he is okay with his wife prancing around the house in goodness knows what to call that outfit that reveals her entire mid-rif & makes her walk like a penguin!! Sorry that is off the point but still I had to add it!

quite an accurate analysis sankum (sorry dunno ur name)
the character is also so real atleast for me. reading it reminded me of a cousin, a friends brother, an uncle....... so many ppl in real life who display these traits. The cherry on top of this particular sundae is that these personalities invariably have a persecution complex.
Lets c how this plays out tomorrow............ they will go but mayb not just yet ( the precap showed manju ka mamta bhara dil coming to the fore) but will definitely create problems for the others.

Anuj should be let go. Asking him to stay back is going to invite more trouble.

Will Anuj's character improve as it is Anita's gone down the drain but I thought Anuj will improve a little bit after seeing his mom in distress but no signs I guess

he is truly the monkey in a monkey cap .The way Anita-Anuj talk to each other ,it is hard to believe they are newly-weds who are/were in love .
