Prithvi, on the other hand, still hadn't thawed entirely... He was still the cold and calculating man, out to exact revenge, at whatever cost. That is why he could tell himself that hurting Damini was required, that her tears were a necessary evil and that was why he could steel himself and stay away from her for so long. This was one battle where the fire was tamed, but the ice hardly melted at all. Then Prithvi went on the offensive, proving why ice is nearly as deadly as fire... He shot icy barbs at Daminiand completely cold-shouldered her... And the by-now gentle Damini was too attached to even consider putting up a fight...
We all knew that a woman like Damini would not take behaviour like this for too long, and she stayed true to our expectations. That one "it doesn't make a difference to me" was the last straw as far as our Queenie was concerned. But instead of becoming a raging inferno, Damini did an about-turn and became an ice-queen instead! She is trying to be a cold woman now, with indifference as her biggest weapon... and is suceeding to a large extent. I suspect Prithvi could have taken her anger and hate, could have worked around them, but how does one battle indifference? If she hated him, he could have won her over with love; if she was despairing, he would have shown her hope... but he's dealing with someone who neither cares nor hopes, and that in itself is torture... Of course, Damini isn't really cold... Trying is the operative word when speaking of her new avatar, and the sooner Prithvi realises this, the better...
So, what's the next course of action? Prithvi's icy demeanour seems to have gone for good, thank heavens, and his soul is well on it's way to being the free-flowing serene stream that Sarah predicted it would be... Water is quite powerful, in its own right, with the ability to raze and shape the biggest rocks in its path... so thawing the ice mustn't be too much of a problem. But for that, the flow needs to be forceful, sweeping away all resistance in a strong current. I think for as long as Prithvi continues to grovel and plead, ice-queen Damini will not melt completely... So this very out-of-character hunger strike, while cute, really needs to stop.
Instead, I would love to see him crowding her, clouding her senses, cutting through her indifference with his sarcastic one-liners, and in general being the self-assured Prithvi Saxena we know and love... When he becomes forceful, which we all know he is very capable of being, all her iciness will vanish instantly... And the Damini we love will emerge from behind that cold shell. This is not to say that Damini should be weak, but the fieriness of her spirit cannot and should not be curbed for long... I really don't want her to give in and accept Prithvi's excuses/love anytime soon, but I want the purported indifference to go and fast... PriDa are characterised by passion, and they really need to fight like they did in the old times...
