Lawsuit filed against "Paa" in Patna court

Big B has been accused of poking fun at people with disabilities.

The case has been filed by Patna High Court lawyer Shruti Singh in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate under The Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995. It has also been filed against "Paa" director R. Balkrishna.

"I filed a case in the court demanding a probe into whether 'Paa' violated the act or not," Singh said Saturday.

"My stand is simple: If it violated the disability act, the authorities should act against the producer and actors of the film for making a joke of disabled people," she added.

She said the court will hear the case next week.

According to Singh, the act is guided by the philosophy of empowering people with disabilities and their associates. The act endeavors to introduce an instrument for promoting equality and participation of people with disabilities on the one hand, and eliminating discrimination of all kinds on the other.

Whats wrong with the courts in India !! If he is playing a disabled person and is trying to pass on a message to such suffering people it is not a crime !! I have seen few people like him or even worst !! Why donot they do their job which they have to do !! Thousands of criminals are walking the roads of Patna and other cities !!

stupid stupid stupid! For the reasons given Dustin Hoffman should be sued for playing Austic in Rain Main, Darsheel for playing Dyslexic, and Rani Mukerjee for playing blind and deaf! This is so lame, they are actors hence their job to ACT! The court needs to sue music video makers who project women as object and make them wear practical nothing! Seriously, the court needs to take up cases that actually matter b/c nothing in Paa was remotely offensive if anything the film emerging as a hit helps raise awareness for other children who suffer this condition!

There are lots of pending cases of crime in the courts they are not important but a movie which is just a non-fictional has got a lawsuit filed against it !! Wah Kiya India Ka Kanoon hai !!
