Shreyas Talpade & Daisy Shah - in Palaash Muchhal s movie.
I know that I had said I won't be opening topics. I feel foolish and probably seem like a hypocrite. But when I heard that BB will end I thought to myself- if there won't be BB, what is the point of my boycott? I was so annoyed because I wanted things to change for the better. But never in my wildest dreams did I expect to read that our much loved show will end. i think this may be my LONGEST topic ๐ณ But plz keep awake!
BB's plus pointsBharti: Initially Bhaskar may have turned into a woman, but I loved how Bharti formed her own identity. She became her own person, attained the position at MU on her own merit, struggled and faced hardhsips to succeed and experienced and felt what many other women would experience and feel. Whatever Bharti gained, experienced or felt, that was all her own, not Bhaskar's. Bharti will always be a woman of substance, a reflection of today's ideal woman. I'm sure others will agree that there is so much that we can learn from Bharti and incorporate into our own lives.MU: Using the madness and mayhem of Men's Universe was a great idea. The lively yet two faced bunch at the office was instantly appreciated. Each character brought a certain charm to the show. Whether it was AJ's word of the day, Gyan's stupidity, Vineeta "daaarling" and her cheap potshots or Sunny and his ridiculous antics- every character had a place and a purpose. Heck at MU, there was never a dull moment. It provided spice and was definitely one of BB's highlights. It set the show apart from other shows that were churning out the same old same old! I don't think any other show has had such a masaledar backdrop!ArBi: What to say abt the awesome ArBi? Bharti & Armaan, so different in personalities yet so right for each other. There was something abt them which made them click instantly. Although they may not be together in the proper sense, there is something that binds them together and i think that's because they are connected from the soul. Bharti has never expressed in words her true feelings for Armaan. But it has been very obvious on various occasions just how much he means to her. She trusts him so much and that trust comes from the love that she feels within. And I don't need to say much abt the charming Armaan. He has always loved Bharti. Barring his daughter, Bharti is the only person he has truly cared for. Together, Bharti and Armaan have been on their own journey. It's been complicated, complex, confusing....but it's all worth it. Such an intriguing love story which has touched a chord in many hearts...Minus pointsAgreed that the show is abt identity of a woman. But were they not showing the identity of a woman prior to the circus we have now? You don't need to show kitchen politics, wailing for a waaris or ghoongat glances, just to show the struggle of a woman. I'm sure many people were able to identify with the Bharti before her marriage to Omkaar. The thing is that this track does not fit in with BB. The show was too classy for all this nautanki. And I think that the new creatives tried to give the show a more "serial" like feel. But that is not what BB is all abt. Bhaskar Bharti equals to Unique. And look what they have done to this unique show. They sacrificed it on plots that are not in line with the nature of the show.BB was never too comical or too serious. It managed to strike a healthy balance. But of late the balance has tilted and it's too depressing to watch. I have nothing against Shakti Anand or the actors that are playing a part as Bharti's sasural. I do, however, have an issue with the type of characters that they are portraying. We see such character everyday in various other shows. Nothing different abt it. They are unable to match the class of the original characters. This was a failed track from the start. It had limited scope for anything else to happen other than a track between Bharti and Omkaar. And that's not what pple want. And let me just say that the Omkaar track has not only damaged ArBi's relationship, it has dampened Armaan's character and has weakened Bharti's character as well. Storylines should lead to progression of a character, not suffocate it. And since I am speaking of progression, I do NOT believe that a proper ArBi track would have been difficult. Of course it was possible, had the writers at least tried. The beauty abt writing for such a show is that you can use your imagination to any extent. It's like a free hit. You just gotta go for it. But I think the writers were too timid or didn't have the guts to go all out.BB's trps have always been slippery. I guess that's due to the fact that the desi audience in general find it hard to digest different or fresh programmes. They like to stick to the typical masala formula ๐ณ Having said that, the trps were picking up and were very positive. This was when MU was still in the picture and ArBi were going strong. Once Bharti was married off to Omkaar, the trps reflected audience displeasure. But the writers alone are to be blamed for the dip in trps. They should have respected the wishes of the fans. And Sony is a useless channel. It launches new shows and then dumps each one at the drop of a hat. What is the point in trying to show something different if you don't have the spine to back it. Mind boggling...I think we, at the forum have tried our best and should feel no guilt. Yes, we've been upset recently but with good reason. The writers have really taken us for a ride and I'm dead sure they know what fans want....but they just couldn't be bothered. We spoke abt time. But how much time? Had they acted earlier, perhaps this would not have been the case. I'm still going to give Sony a call today. I know it will not make a difference but I will try. I'm an emotional fool but I don't get senti over shows. But this is different. It's funny but with BB, there is a connection. And I feel as if something precious is slipping from my hands...Sorry for the long post, had no choice really. I had to convey my thoughts properly. If the end is coming then I shall have to say that it's been a wonderful pleasure being a part of this forum. Each and every member has been a gem. All good things come to an end. The only thing is that the end has come too so How I will ever forget the mad Men's universe, the brave Bharti, my adorable Armaan, and my awesome ArBi....I do not know ๐I haven't been well. Best be off and rest my back.....and fingers LOLPeace to all and SORRY once again for the long post. ๐ค
Thanx Pooja and Vinitha for your lovely comments ๐ค I shall reply to your posts shortly.
Just wanted to say that I gave Sony a call today. Cannot believe their operators are so rude and they passed me on to 4 different pple! I asked one of them abt BB and he said that this is not true. I then told him abt the article, to which he replied that I should call up the production house myself. So I took down the number but it turned out to be an invailid number. That really rubbed me the wrong way ๐ It's hard calling from the UK. Anyway, I called back and this time another rude person, but a lady, gave me the proper number.I tried calling like a million times but the number could not be reached why that is, I don't know. I'm not even sure if the number is correct. But I will keep trying until I speak to someone. And if need be, I will call Sony again. I can't get peace of mind till I speak to someone...
