Salman Khan to be a part of Mr India 2 and Anees Bazmee to replace Priyadarshan for Hera Pheri 4 — update yourself on the sequels and trilogies of 2010
Mr India 2Mogambo khush hua—these oft-spouted words made Mr India one of the biggest blockbusters of Bollywood. Two decades later, producer Boney Kapoor hopes to recreate another timeless character and this time he is toying with the idea of Salman Khan playing a larger than life character, like Batman or Superman. "Whenever there is a unique character, Salman is first on my list," he states, adding, "Anil Kapoor too will play a pivotal role." The sequel may be a little late in the day, but Kapoor feels a film like Mr India is not a slave to time. "It relies on nostalgic value and the curiosity element. The invisibility factor and a larger-than-life villain were novel elements then. It is novelty that we will bank on this time too," says the producer.
Golmaal 3Comedy is definitely the flavour of the season with dime-a-dozen directors scrambling over each other to churn them out. But Rohit Shetty is sitting pretty with the success of Golmaal and Golmaal Returns, and is now busy scripting Golmaal 3. "When you are making a sequel or a trilogy, the audiences know the characters very well. So you cannot keep them subdued nor go overboard. For instance, Tusshar Kapoor who plays a character with a speech problem was the highlight of both films. I cannot possibly get rid of him in this one," says Shetty who has retained his cast from the previous films, with Arshad Warsi as the only exception.
Hera Pheri 4The famous trio of Ghanshyam, Raju and Baburao will have you in splits when they make a comeback in Hera Pheri 4. Although this film is actually the third part, it is titled as the fourth to intentionally leave a mysterious time gap. "The film will show that we were absconding in the third part and discovered again in this one," explains actor Suneil Shetty. It is Priyadarshan's replacement with Anees Bazmee that has left everyone stunned, but Shetty clarifies, "Both have a varied style of filmmaking but they are the best at dialogue-based situational comedies."

Partner 2Reports may state that David Dhawan and Salman Khan have fallen out but the filmmaker is already set to take his Partner sequel on the floors. Partner, an adaptation of Hollywood's Hitch, with the twosome of Khan and Govinda, paid off big time. And three years later, Dhawan wishes to reap the benefits. "To make a sequel of a successful movie can be tricky — while the advantage is the characters' familiarity, the movie has to offer much more than the original. Partner 2 will imbibe the love guru concept but will have a fresh storyline and new female leads, where Salman is trying to help Govinda out of another situation."
