Hey Tin

Kuddos and Hats off to u on such an amazing and incredible story. Just got to read the whole story in just 2 days though I wanted to read it in one go. U r truly a very talented and a gifted writer as each of ur stories are so different from one another that it just leaves readers like us wanting to read more.

This fanfac was adventurous, thrilling and it was like watching a movie. Each character was portrayed beautifully - be it Jacques, Sarah, Bani and ofcourse My Lady. Felt bad for Sundari but glad to know Sarah finally found her love.
In the beginning, I hated Jacques character who couldnt look into his grandma's eyes and say no to the engagement with Sarah but finally he did defy his grandma to say Bani was the only one for him. Loved the parts Ismail and the ever faithful Toddy played.
Over all too good. Eagerly expecting more from u.

Hey Jayati,
You know how and what I feel about the story as we have debated about the characters so often. I could not stop myself for applauding your creativity, everytime you come with a new story, new ideas and seldom fail to impress. I have read a lot of authors, renowned and not so renowned. I wish and really hope you should publish your stories, so that you could get more readership, broaden your horizons, get some of them transform into a play or a serial or a movie.
Initially I hated this Jaques, debated so many times with you about him being a hero. Then realised that he is one of the real characters that we come across in life. Though Bani was bold and beautiful and we wanted her to get her respectful place in JW's life and society, but do we really do so in real life. Majority of us would agree to be in support of Danielle or Sarah (more if she would have got married to JW). But with your way of telling the story and our favourite characters, you changed the thinking of many if not all. I would ask you to get this one (though I have a long list ) made into a serial or movie and if that would change a single life, it would be worth the effort.
cheers
Shweta

Nice story with nice ending. Finally Bani & Tara got their rightful place in Jaquese's life. Sarah too found someone who loved her.

I didn't get why My Lady waited till news of Sarah's marriage to let JW marry bani & why JW didn't insist on marrying Bani when he was sure of Sarah not returning. He just resumed his relationship with bani without giving her the status she deserved.

I also didn't get why JW who was so helpless bound by the promise he gave Danielle didn't hesitate sleeping with Bani when he was still engaged to Sarah ( before Sarah decided to go back to England).

Sarah should have made clear that she is freeing JW rather than keep them waiting esp MY Lady & Bani.

Dear Dipti,
I am sorry you I could not make things clearer for you...the main thing is the time, look at the period the story is set 1856-58. During that time a gora marrying a native was a strict no no, that too a native without a proper background, not a nobility or anything. Having mistress was acceptable but not marriage. My Lady wanted the best for her grandson, like many of us, in status and class. Sarah fitted the bill of her requirement more. Regarding breaking of engagement - in those days name word of honour mattered very much, it was a dishonour to break engagement or unlike today's world engaged today and not engaged tomorrow did not happen....while Jacques and Bani were happy with the status they had, My Lady had to bend finally, Sarah realised even if she hoped, Jacques would never love her the way he loved Bani....Love finally conquered all........love Tin

Oh yes it difficult to remember norms of old times. My only think was Sarah could break the engagement & get married without asking for the permission & JB had to wait for a green light from her. May be generation difference too. JW may be trying to honor his grandmothers wishes who being much older woman & not coming to terms with idea of having Bani as bahu wanted to hold on to Sarah
