if u hae read bush's latest sweeping comment saying that wonen shold not be allowed in comat at all, u would know what i am talking abt. due to various reasons, he does not believe that women should be allowed to combat

but personally, i do not agree on various account. What shocked me further was the comment was coming from a country which opposes patriachal societries and is considered one of the most advanced societies to believe thgat women and men are equal and this seems to be a step backwards totally disallowing women to do something they choose by free will.

Yes, women are physically weaker than men, no doubt abt that but that doesn mean u totally disallow them. is brute strength all that is required during a war? aren bravery, adaptabiliy, decision making skills, quick thinking, technical expertise and intelligence of any value? with modern technologies, its easy to create light weight equipment for women and performance targets can be calliberated and made easier for women.

Yes, there are many factors to be considered, but i still feel that by dissallowing women to join these u are in fact furthering the existing line of discrimination, trying to say that women are inferior to men.

BTW i am not a total feminist! 😆😆 its just what i feel!

Sneha, could you please forward an article or a clip where President Bush make this statement. Probably it will help me to share my views after I hear/read it.

o.k honestly i am a feminist too . But somehow i don't think too much of these minor issues .

When i read memoirs/biography/autobiographies of women in many Countries where they aren't even given basic rights . They don't have rights over their own body , sexual freedom . Only men rule them- cover them from top to bottom , undress them if they wish too .........leave them locked in a society that doesn't allow basic freedom that is acceptable by human rights . This issue seems to minor to me .

Currently i am reading a book that is a trip to Saudi Arabia by an Indian woman. When i read about how bad a life could be for women under such men ...........i feel happy that i was born & brought up in a Society(India) and currently reside in a Society that gives freedom to women !! 😊

Somehow i always look at how bad it could be and how good we have it .......while we are complaining about minor equality issues .............there are women who would die to be given basic freedom..........example:leave the house without a maharam(male escort ),drive a car, dress normally in public ,be allowed to run or walk as i please, speak freely .......etc etc
