Katrina paid Rs. 2 crore to dance

Katrina will be paid Rs. 2 crore for a New Year's Eve performance and that is the highest amount an actress has ever been paid.

Last year, she was scheduled to perform at the JW Marriott, but due to 26/11, the shows were cancelled as all celebrations were low-key. She was to be paid Rs. 1 crore at the time, and now, she is being paid double of what she was offered last year.

'Katrina is a hot favourite. Earlier, Mallika Sherawat, Malaika Arora Khan and Bipasha Basu have performed to bring in the New Year, but Katrina is a superstar and she draws in more crowds than all of them put together. Bipasha and Mallika have only been paid in lakhs. People pay to watch Katrina on screen, no matter what her role is,' says a source.

'Grand preparations are in order for her stage performance. Her friend and favourite designer Rocky S, who has styled her look in films like Namastey London, Singh is Kinng and New York, will be designing a glittering costume for her. She will dance to a medley of her hit songs like Tu Jaane Na, Main Tera Dhadkan, Tera Hone Laga Hoon, Blue theme, Chiggy Wiggy and old songs from Singh is Kinng, which are a rage even today. Bosco-Caesar, the men behind Mauja hi Mauja and the latest Kurbaan video, are choreographing her stage performance. JW Marriott wants this to be the most exclusive and upscale New Year party this year,' concludes our source.

When StarBoxOffice contacted her about this, she said it was too early to comment. She is currently basking in the glory of yet another hit this year, and word is that she might even sweep the award functions early next year, collecting trophies for her performance in New York and APKGK. Katrina Kaif will bring in the New Year on a prosperous note, and there is no stopping her in 2010 as well.

But not that many actresses opt to dance for the new year party for the reason of Alcohol and misbehaving people...
I wonder why is she doing it..she does not need to do this.....

Yay rich people have found new ways to garbage money😛

I never understood the point behind such acts. Doesnt this make the actresses what they refer to as "Kothawaalis" in movies as they do the same thing sing and dance for money?😛

I agree it is very degrading tosee teh actresses dance for money. And we know what we call those girls.
What is the difference between a Bar Dancer (poor girl atleas tis doing that to get food on the table for her family). And then they are called by al lbad names.
What is so different about actresses dancing in front of drunk crowd on New year party.
I agree with the stage showes but not dancing for hotels for money..

I don't get why they feel the need to do this? Is it seriously for the money? Don't they already make enough as it is?!

I agree with all said above, but every single performer gets paid!
Be it Priyanka, Shahid, SRK, Kareena, etc.
No one dances for free 😆
It takes foreverr to learn steps and you have to take time out to practice
lol i know cause i've danced before at school for multicultural assemblies...for free of course 😆
who's gonna pay us when we dance voluntarily? 😆

Totally agree with dancing on award functions and Tours.....but to danc ein front of drunk crowd in a hotel program is not th esame. It shows the lust for money and loosing your dignity.
But I guess when you are on the high you want to make more money..and that too easy money....but to me it is same like the dancers shown in movies when people go to bars and see the dance.....
But I wonder who all have danced at New year party...,
