The movie was RHEA's idea, Rhea came up approached Anil, not Sonam. Just like how Zoya casted her brother in her movie, Rhea Kapoor did the same with her sister!

I just wanted to say that Farhan did Luck By Chance only after quite a few people rejected the film. Not trying to prove any point, just stating what I know. And she did that on the basis of his yet un-released film "The Fakir of Venice" and not Rock On.

Like someone had already mentioned, the kind of criticisms and comparisons that star kids may face is a small price to pay for the kind of popularity and stardom they achieve for doing absolutely nothing. Just being born gives them a free ticket to Bollywood. They don't need talent nor charisma. That's why we see the likes of Uday Chopra and Shamita Shetty continuing to act. They're riding on their family's success.

I am not saying that there are no star kids that are deserving of Bollywood. There are those that work hard to reach where they are and maybe they would have made it even without being a star kid. But those are exceptions.

hehe.. its all perspective. 😃

The problem is that the media gives these star kids so much attention because they are the son or daughter of X, Y or Z. They continue to get it despite mediocre performances until they get good films under the best banners, best director and best banner. They get years to prove themselves whereas others get one shot before they are ousted. Whereas kids without connections are ignored(these connections can be filmi families, modelling, beauty pageants, boyfriends, rich parents). I do not think it is a coincidence that in the 90's most of the stars were self-made and suddenly all the upcoming "actors" are from the filmi families or from a privileged background.

In the end they should be talented from their first film. They can grow as actors and all the stars have grown as actors but they were good since their first film. In the 90's most of these people impressed in their first movies: Aamir, SRK, Preity, Rani, etc.

In my opinion there are only 2 ways of breaking into Bollywood -
1. You have to be associated with a family thats worked in Bollywood
2. You have to be at the right place at the right time- you need the luck if you are an outsider.

Its quite imperative that when you star parents your launch film, PR will all be served in a platter. Nothing wrong with that. If some one made my life easy would I not go with it? But my issue is when these Star Kids think they are Gods Gift to Mankind. I cant stand their arrogance which is not even supported by genuine talent. SRK has arrogance but that has come after 15 years of being successfull. At the start of his career SRK has never said he was the best.

Some of them think its their birth-right to be successfull & the rest should fall at their feet. They think way too highly of themselves. This puts me off a lot of Star Kids- Kareena, Sonam to name a few.

The others- well its not an easy ride. its a tough & long journey to make at such an early age. And trust me compromises of every kind is required. And its not that every actor is happy to compromise- trust me its a tough decision for most.
