If you read the book before watching Vampire Diaries then you'd know Elena was blonde. I was upset when i found out she would be a brunette because IDK i always imagined Elena as blonde but I love Nina so i got used to it :)

Who was upset at first?

never read the books so it didn't bother me
plus nina is hell of a gorgeous girl..im glad they selected her as elena
i was in the book store and saw the book..the girl they portrayed as elena on the cover of the book looked evil

I know i feel the same about blonde's.

But in the book you accept her to be blonde =P

So unless the actor wasn't Nina and was a brunette I would be mad.
