I can't believe this is the same Hiten who had said that nobody need worry about Khemi because he would be always there to look after her.He shrewdly inquired and got to know Khemi's husband did not know about his and Khemi's love. He agreed with Santu that she should not hide anything from her husband

But at no point did he seem to think of the cosequences this poor girl who nobody backs might have to face if her aurthodox in laws come to know her past and the fact that her marriage to Archan was to save her sister's marriage and so that she would find a niche in her own samaj which she had lost and her Nanaji regain his lost prestige.

Hiten feels he has done his bit ----by offering her help to pay off her husband's debt

Saving his father's marriage by agreeing to marry Toral

Acts as if he is absolved of all guilt by being the first to announce his marriage to Toral in Toral's presence to Khemi at her inlaw's house.

While accepting tea from Khemi's husband and listening calmly to Archan's utterance that he know everything

Not in the least worried about what a poor girl like Khemi might be subjected to after thisrevelationof her past

Nor is he affected by the fact that Khemi's husband is a menial in his house and by virtue of that Khemi enjoys no rcognition eventhough she is still his life's love

Nicely taking part in all the fun of toral's shopping and demanding that Maulik listen when Toral addresses him

Wher is that fine man called Hiten whom we knew at the begging of the serial and later too.

Well said but you must agree that the situation in which Khemi is by virtue of her birth poverty and lack of education It is not the same in case of Hiten . Because Hiten is well educated, endowed because he is the son of an uppercast powerful man and rich. Both did not commit a crime by falling in live but both committed the crime of offending the susceptibilities of the samaj they belonged to by admitting their love and by attempting to culminate their relationship into a marriage because in the eyes of the samaj the were masi and nephew.

All very well ,but Hiten who firmly did not believe in his father's relationship learnt to respect it when Santu and Dm agreed to divorce. That surely should not make a difference to his vows and pledges to Khemi the woman he loves. How can a girl in Khemi's position be blamed .As it is awoman in her station of life has hardly any bargaining power. Also she didn't search out Archan. He would have rescued anyone in such an accident. Hisparents thought her good and got them married. What could Khemi do.

If a powerful woman like Motiben could do nothing even though she loved Kanji dearly because he did not appear at the appointed time what can Khemi do. Hiten can do much more.And Hiten should do much more.He should not marry Toral He should find a way of getting out of it. Silently without coming to the forefront he should satisfactorily settle Khemi's and Archan's life on all fronts and then marry whomever he wishes to marry. It could be Toral also

Honest nephew

Good son to both parents --mother and new mother too

Good grandson

Holding up the family name

Respecting his mentor nanajee

kind to Moghii

Then why should the love of his life be ignored Even if she is at fault for hastily accepting to find a solution to her hasseled mind and broken heart. So what if she is not in official relationship with him He owes it to her. He has vowed to care for her.Where are his feelings and conscience

Sumi, there is nothing that he could do, he is an outsider in Khemi's life, she has her hubby with her and when her hubby himself says he know everything then whta can Hiten do there but to stand still in shock. Hiten going and justifying their relation will be weird in this situation. he did the right thing by not reacting.
