Wow, Roja's update might help us follow this serial...else with millions of characters roaming about, we all will be like thiruvizhala tholainja kids.

Hi Meli, Roja, Eljay, Caryn my namesake, etc, etc

I'm glad to see many of my IF friends in this Chellameh forum. I have given up watching Tamil serials after Anandham and Kalyanam and don't intend watching Chellameh when it starts in Singapore tomorrow. Too tiresome to follow these serials when office work and family responsibilities are mounting. But since SS has a key role, I hope to catch up by reading the updates here and watching an occasional video online if there is an interesting episode.

As has been universally acknowledged by every reader here, the names are so antiquated and quite a mouthful. Assigning nicknames, as Roja has suggested (I like Beach!!), is a good idea but it may further confuse some readers who don't check these pages regularly.

What I'd therefore like to suggest is that we start a permanent "Who's Who" thread, which the updaters maintain. It will have an alphabetical checklist of all the characters, together with their real names and whatever nicknames are assigned, plus a quick description of their relationship to one another. If some of you recall, I created such a checklist for the Kalyanam serial. (I also tried to maintain a periodic summary of the storyline but it may be a bit too much to expect of updaters here.) The entries may look something like:

Chellamah (Radhika), daughter of Avadaippan, the patriarch, and wife of Vadamalai.

Kadarkarai aka Beach (Radha Ravi), son of Avadaippan.

Vadamalai aka Vadai (Saakshi Shivaa), husband of Chellamah.

Just my humble suggestion. I hope all are enjoying a great weekend.

Good idea Bon - ok folks, shoot the nicks - we will have a
poll and then fix the nicks - apram it is cake walk - Roja will
