How are new shows faring?

Hill Road Media

Last week there were many TV shows which came on air, both soaps and reality shows. We take a look at seven new shows and how good and bad they are.

Dance India Dance season 2, Zee

This dance competition has become more fierce and demanding in its second innings. All the dancers are very good and talented and the best part of this show is that the judges don't discourage and humiliate the contestants. Moreover, this show mixes drama with tears of joy and displeasure making it a must watch show on the weekends.

Sisters cross swords for TRPs?

Sisters cross swords for TRPs?Delhi girls Shakti Mohan and Neeti Mohan are sisters who have made it to Zee TV's Lux Dance India Dance and Star Plus's Amul Music Ka Maha Muqabla, telecast in the same weekend primetime slot on two competing channels.

What happens when two sisters participate in two reality shows on competing channels slotted for telecast in the same time slot? It's a war for TRPs under the same roof!!! Delhi girls Shakti Mohan and Neeti Mohan are sisters who have made it to Zee TV's Lux Dance India Dance and Star Plus's Amul Music Ka Maha Muqabla, two high-profile mega-budget reality shows scheduled for telecast in the same weekend primetime slot on the two competing channels.

The girls are not exactly unknown. Neeti Mohan first shot to fame with Channel V's Popstars 2, where she made it to the music band Aasma that belted out the catchy pop number Chandu ke Chacha Ne Chaandi Ke Chamche se…

A few years later, she readies herself to impress the judges on Star Plus's music show, her sister Shakti is all set to dazzle the dance gurus with her moves on Zee TV's Lux Dance India Dance. If the buzz is anything to go by, the two sisters bear a marked resemblance and are superlative at their respective art forms. So is the rivalry catching up at home?

Shakti immediately clarified, "Oh no, not at all. We are extremely close as sisters and nothing matters to us more than each other's happiness. We hope both the shows do exceedingly well. Moreover, we wish that we are noticed for our talent. Just pray for both of us!" So, will it be Neeti who sets the TRP's soaring for Star Plus or will Shakti prove lucky for Zee TV and dance up a TRP storm for Lux Dance India Dance? Only time will tell …

Dharmesh's risk pays off in Dance India Dance..

    March 05 2010 | 1:01pm 19 Comments

Dharmesh gave an action-packed performance this weekend in Dance India Dance..

The battle in Zee TV's Dance India Dance Season 2 has got intense with the fear of elimination looming large in the contestants' minds. As the contestants try hard to put their best foot forward, one can clearly say that Dharmesh Yelande seems to be the luckiest of all, as he has been getting appreciated for the enormous talent that he has!

In this week's episode, Dharmesh Sir takes a step ahead in proving his prowess as a dancer, and in fact tries his hand at action and stunts.

According to our source, "Dharmesh performed a fabulous act praising Lord Ganpati Bappa, and in the process smashed nearly ten tube lights on his hands, arms and even walked on them. He got a standing ovation from everyone. The mentors and the Grand Master praised him for having the confidence to perform this kind of an act, and that too in such a crucial stage of the competition".

If we thought Dharmesh was the best in popping-and-lopping format, then this performance of his needs to be watched.

Catch the big 'D' in action on Zee TV's Dance India Dance this weekend…
