Veena's two-and-a-half year old Pomeranian

A four-day search for the two-and-a-half-year-old Pomeranian came to an end last afternoon when Sunil Mohite, a pet-shop owner and dog trainer with the Tandons, got Rambo home around 12.30 pm.

He acquired the dog from a youth who landed up at his shop yesterday morning with a proposition of selling it.

The actress' mother Veena Tandon was in tears to see her pooch prancing around the house yet again.

Says an excited Veena Tandon, "I'm too happy to get Rambo back. I was choked with emotions and could hardly speak. I could only cuddle him and Rambo in return was licking me profusely and wagging his tail."

Going by the chain of events Rambo went missing during its morning stroll at the Juhu beach on January 15.

The dog was reportedly nabbed by youths who on the pretext of playing with it took his leash from the Tandons' household help Ramu. Mohite who had seen the picture of Rambo in Mid Day (January 16) immediately recognised it when a youth came with the dog to his pet-shop in Juhu.

Says Mohite, "I started enquiring about the dog as the guys carrying Rambo were in shabby clothes. Unable to give any answer to my questions they soon fled when I said that the cops have been looking for the dog. In fact, I made an attempt to grab their collar but I had Rambo in one hand. Without wasting time, I took the dog to Veenaji."

Dubla ho gaya hai

Veena Tandon complains that Rambo appeared thinner and has been afflicted with fleas. "Considering the fact that Rambo is a fussy eater, I'm sure he didn't touch a morsel of food. Also he is used to me taking care of his food, no matter what. If I'm not at home he's doesn't eat."

Says Mrs. Tandon. After the re-union, Rambo got a bubble bath of sorts from mother Veena. She adds, "There were too many fleas and his fur was also dirty. I gave him nice bath. God knows which slum he was taken to."

Pampered son

Lunchtime had Rambo feasting on chicken, specially cooked by Tandon. "He's a pampered son of mine and I fed him with my own hands today. He appears a little traumatised otherwise my son is fine. I'm taking him to the veterinarian for a routine checkup tomorrow morning," says Tandon. She informs, "It was a lesson for us and I'll not let Rambo play with a stranger anymore. I would like to thank Mid Day for splashing my son's picture otherwise we would have never got him back."
