If God does not exist - the entire concept is a hypothesis. Absolute power is a hypothetical assumption.

But the point you're missing is, God is the only one who can be trusted with absolute power since He is, by nature, incorruptible.

So basically we are begging the question what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object?

Only the form is what happens when an absolutely corruptible force meets an incorruptible object?

The problem is the two cannot coexist.

There is no such thing as absolute power, its just that people have figured out a way to cope with Newton's third law in a creative way, but eventually they all fall, the bigger they get the harder they fall.

I do not think that it is power that is evil. When used appropriately, even absolute power can lead to productive results. On the contrary, I think it is human nature that is corrupt. Our selfish needs and desires, our greed lead us to corruption when we have power. If used wisely, power can do much good.
