BUDHA MAR GAYA [meaning: The old man is dead] -- that's the title of Rahul Rawail's new film. Almost six months ago, we'd informed you that the reputed director was planning a black comedy with actors who could allot 40 days at a stretch. The status on the project is that Rawail is through with the scripting of the film. "Now comes the difficult task -- the casting," Rawail laughs.
Getting serious, Rawail adds that the central role will be enacted by a corpse. "I need an actor who is ready to play the corpse in the film. All he has to do in the entire film is play a dead man. The problem is, which established actor would be interested in doing a role like this?" he asks.
Isn't Rawail getting experimental? "I've realized that the content does the talking at the end of the day. The moviegoer of today is more interested in a sound story than stars," he states. True!
