Amitabh Bachchan apologized to The National Organization for Tobacco Eradication (NOTE) following a legal notice, which was served to him earlier this month for an advertisement hoarding of one of his forthcoming films 'Family' where he was shown smoking. Amitabh in a letter to Shekhar Salkar, general secretary of NOTE, said that he is deeply apologetic for the advertisement that has hurt the sentiments of the people at large. He also adds that he had nothing to do with the advertisement, which showed a still from his movie 'Family'. However he mentioned in the letter that he has asked the producers of the film to take immediate steps to avoid such violations in future. Salkar, though happy with the Bachchan's response, wants this fight to be taken to its logical end. As per source, NOTE will continue the legal process against Amitabh Bachchan, until they get a legal reply from the actor. |
