Media propagating superstition

During the recent solar eclipse, the Indian TV media went on an overdrive with panelist urging people not to go out of their homes during the eclipse. And during the Big Bang experiment, the Information & Broadcasting ministry had to literally issue gag orders to Hindi TV channels to stop scaring people with 'Doomsday Theories'. What are your views on media propagating superstition.

Well when news channels have daily half hour astrology segments, I dont know what to say.

Indian News Media overdoes it every time. Be it their coverage of issues like Ragging, Sting Operations to issues like Superstition, Black Magic, Spirits etc etc.
They are just a Bunch of Jokers who have lost the sense of everything SANE .
