government decides to ban balika vadhu - Page 2

I doubt govt will take any action as banning it forever. It may be stopped for a short duration and it will be aired back again. Reality is being portrayed in BV. They should work towards fixing that first, rather than banning TV shows.

It is called free publicity or advertisement. People who do not watch it reg will be drawn to it.👍🏼

i actually saw on aaj tak- that some ministers and socialists were with BV saying it going very 'suttle and slowly' but will create its 'national' effect soon. and that the production house is doing a good job making it a non-gloss and glamourous seriel but an every-day realistic one. also, the creative heads are very carefully setting the script to follow its legal demand and spread the message out nicely.

actually I think many p[eople get wrong message from BV. e.g. Anandi even though is BV, is still having a happy childhood and fun.. so in a way, in the serial it is ok to have BV in homes.. I would not want a young girl of 10-12 yrs to watch this serial, or she might start asking her parents to get her married like Anandi.. Also, we see a lot of Anandi-Jagiya scenes, even if they are cute scenes, the point is we dont need to see a young boy and girl behaving like hubby-wife. Also the rape-child-marriage of Gehna is now flossed over, and we see a happy marriage .. In a way, this happiness track supports rape and child marriage. As people will see that even though child marriage was a pain in the beginning, but later it worked out well.. Also, the Sugna track is not enlightening. She was to be married late, but instead gets pregnant before gauna, giving the msg that better marry the girl child as young as possible. Even as she remarries, she is still underage and pregnant.

so basically few mps demanded a ban becuz child marriage potrayed in the show is against the law but the minister has promised to look into the matter and has said freedom of speech cannot be curbed.
but yes i agree with everyone here...despite the protestations BV has only ended up glorifying child marriage and the wrong practices in society. but then which show is really better? if we look at the top shows across channels today we have Choti Bahu and Bidaai which shows doormat woman whose only purpose in life is to serve her husband and his family(at times her family). doesnt even dadisa preach the same thing to her beendnis and suguna? then we have yeh rishta where the purpose of life of the lead protagonist is to get married, ladoo has become a proper saas vs bahu drama, shree is all abt superstitions. and then there are ekta kapoor's shows which have shown all protagonists having atleast 10 marriages and divorces during the life time of a show. so why target only BV?
who knows this coverage to BV by news channels might be motivated due to rivalry since all of them belong some rival media group.
