Yash Raj films, having ended 2008 with its highest grossing film RAB NE BANA DI JODI, has started 2009 with a bang!

NEW YORK, which released worldwide on June 26th 2009, has grossed Rs. 35 crores worldwide in its release 3-day weekend and has broken all earlier opening weekend collection records for 2009.

The movie has also had an impressive opening across all markets. NEW YORK has opened at the No 3 slot on the Australian charts and at No 10 in the UK this weekend. The movie has also been the top weekend earner in the UAE for 2009.

Directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Aditya Chopra, the film stars John Abraham, Katrina Kaif, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Irrfan, released in over 900 screens worldwide.

NEW YORK, which has received a tremendous response from all audiences and has been critically acclaimed both nationally and worldwide, is set to achieve greater numbers going ahead!

im sooo happy...

mostly the movies dont get good reviews but do well at box office...n mostly some get good reviews but fail at box office...very rare it happens that the movie gets great reviews and also creates a blast at the box office...NY is certainly one of these...it has impressed every1 ..rite from the critics to the audience...now thats what we call a truly well made movie..hats off to NY...n thx hun for the great article..im soo happy...

NEW YORK has been received extremely well in the international markets. The film has embarked on a superb start in U.K., U.S.A. and Australia and is one of the biggest openers of Yash Raj internationally [see chart below]. Now KAMBAKKHT ISHQ is expected to open huge as well, thus ending the drought.

before calling someone for a flop actor then always remember every actor have delivered flops who ever it is have and u cant judge neil liek say he is flop when only 3 of hes movies have released and this is hes first hit but he have only done 2 mvoies before and yeha hes 2 previous movies was flops but every cator have flops! about john he is not a flop actor he have done hits too! and before talking about Kat then watch her movies and then talk!!

Comeon guys we all should wait for the final BO report.

The article said "The highest gross so far of 2009"...and we all know which films came till now and how much business they did......

Maybe it is a hit or not but I think it is a good movie.

Plus I was wondewring that CC2C made around 350 millioons in the first week then why was it named a flop. While others are considered hits with that amount...😉
