Kanyadaan means that the bride's father's responsibilities get transferred to the groom, not the bride's responsibilities.

Hi - yes, I know this, but the point is that Jyoti took over her father's responsibilities, so how can he transfer this to Pankaj when Jyoti had already taken them away from him?
