Honestly, I wish they would ban all Bengalis from participating in any of the reality singing shows. No matter how talented and deserving they are! Although it would deprive some of the respected members of this forum the immense pleasure that they obtain from bashing up Bengalis. But at least then the Bengalis can then live in peace.

Oh yes, they showed like 3-5 mins of that Hyderabad audition, I think, but selected no one from there? I think only one of the judges went there, and not both... Not sure though. I wonder why they didnt have one in Bangalore and Chennai, the two biggest cities in the South... 😕

Regarding the second part, I believe in talent, and I will always support true talent regardless of all other criteria. Plus I dont have one to support from my region, and so I have to pick some to support from the selected 12 without any bias. 😃

I think they held audition only in one city in each zone and expected the wannabies from other cities to travel there. So just like they held auditions in Kolkata and not in Assam or Orissa, they held auditions in Hyderabad and not in Bangalore or Chennai. It would be impossible to cover all cities. Some people travelled from really far for the auditions. One of the most surprising one was the little boy who travelled all the way from Assam for the Mumbai audition and sang "bheegi bheegi si" so well, but was rejected.. 😭

Yes, I have read your posts and I know that you support true talent. Folks like you, summerji and some others always appreciate good singers no matter where they come from. Yet there are a few others in this forum who jump at every opportunity to degrade the talent of the Bengali singers and blame regional voting for previous wins. It's as if it is the fault of a singer that he/she is a Bengali and he/she is looked at with a different view right from the begining. Now look at this situation! The competition has hardly started and there are already heated debates on this topic. I really think that this is unfair. I'm a Bengali married to a Telegu, born and brought up in Mumbai who speaks fluent Marathi. I love Telegu songs, I grew up enjoying Marathi Natya sangeet and I enjoy music from all regions. I always maintained the true winner always comes from the South. Both Vaishali and Anamika were toppers in the South Zone voting.

I really wish that posts that hurt the sentiments of others because of reasons such as religion, language, caste, creed, physical appearance, etc. were avoided.

I agree with Bambooshoot, Akanna, Summer, and others for being so sensible. There is no need for bringing up this issue of regionalism and all those issues which might hurt the sentiments of a particular group.

Unfortunately when so many bengali contestants got selected I knew there would be some people on this forum start these issues of bengali vote bank and all that stale stuff. Sure enough people started the topic which might bring out the worst in of all of us. That's one of the reason I decided to stay away, but saw Bambooshoot's post and wanted to say a word or two on this subject.
Wish all those children the best of luck and may they go a long way. Love listening to all of these beautiful children sing i know how much hard work each and every one of them are putting in. Please lets say things to encourage them.
