Actress Nadira's condition improves

The condition of veteran film actress Nadira, admitted to a local hospital, has "improved considerably", hospital sources said here today.

"Nadira's condition has improved considerably and she is not as serious as she was yesterday. However, she is not completely out of danger," the sources said.

Seventy-four year old Nadira was admitted to the ICU of Bhatia Hospital on December 31 after she suffered a paralytic stroke coupled with a heart attack. Her condition since then had been deteriorating.

The actress is suffering from an alcoholic liver disease called 'grade four hepatic encephalopaty', the sources said.

Sources said Nadira's relatives stay in Israel, but her daughter had arrived at the hospital this morning.
