Hey guys,

As most of you all know I have this great fixation for Shakespeare. I still remember I was probably 15 when I read his poem "Seven Ages", then the drama "Julius Caesar" and I fell in love with every line, and thus began my love affair with Shakespeare which is only getting better like wine!!!!

And today it is the 445th birth anniversary of the most celebrated English author of all times William Shakespeare. Many authors, playwrights, poets have come and gone but somewhere William Shakespeare has remained intact since centuries…His poems were beautiful, his plays unique, his sonnets enchanting…He is truly the "Father of Literature", a man so profound in dramatics who possessed the versatility to write a tragic love saga, a story of corruption and power, a comedy, a thriller, a light-hearted romance, every human emotion and every genre with equal poise and lan…

He was the Tragedy King but all his stories were poignant tales of human emotions and sentiments, from the purest love to darkest greed and pride…every character he etched is evergreen and reminisced fondly…

Even today cult phrases like 'as you like It', 'madness has method', 'pound of flesh', 'what's in a name', 'all world's a stage' have become part of our common language…the fact that his characters and stories can be adapted in any framework and any form is what makes Shakespeare so saleable…innumerous movies have been made on the lines of the legendary Romeo and Juliet…Othello, Hamlet, The comedy of Errors, all have been adapted in their own different way…not only by mainstream English and Hindi films but also regional languages even theoretical plays… that is the magic of Shakespeare…

And that is the reason he still lives on…in our hearts and minds… …

Long Live Shakespeare… …

God bless
Dhani

He must have been God of English literature. Unfortunately, I couldn't understand his play in School and later never tried to read his stories. Like most of the people above, it was too difficult for me to comprehend his language/style.

But I do know his cult phrases 'as you like It', 'pound of flesh', 'what's in a name', 'all world's a stage' ...and have made them part of my conversation many a times.

I love the Hindi movie, Omkara, which is a beautiful interpretation of Shakespeare's play Othelo!

And Jeen...Daffodils is by William Wordsworth!!

Thanks for this post!

"Daffodils" (1804)

I WANDER'D lonely as a cloud

That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine

And twinkle on the Milky Way,
They stretch'd in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they

Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed -- and gazed -- but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie

In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
By William Wordsworth (1770-1850).

hey abhi got it from internet itself ,take a look .
