but if I really enjoy the book, when I reread it.. I notice those other details and such I overlooked, and those do end up becoming my favourite little bits.

Im exactly the same I try to stop myself but sometimes, especially when I'm reading a book first time, i skip some of the descriptions etc

I wont deny that I am tempted to do that but then I think that every word will lead me to that particular mystery..I want to revel in every word..so I fight the urge to skip lines.

I try not to. But i still do it sometimes. The font is just so catchings that I have to go and read it. But i still come back to the paragraph to see if I missed any important detail though.

And then, if I'm reading a book for school, and the page just gets a bit to boring, I tend to skip some lines.

Quite bizarrely , I tried to think of the times I did that, when I read your post and I couldnt remember a single time... and I am quite certain, I dont ever do it... and quite funnily never had to fight the urge either... coz I never had it... I would read the book no matter how boring word to word, albeit with too many breaks but I wouldnt turn to the last page, forget skimming lines... i just might rush through somelines... if I feel there is too much of repitiitve content , but thats happened very rare,..

but its quite a revelation that a lot of people do that... and yeah many of my friends do that too! :-)
