Okay...just finished watching tonight's elimination...first reaction when the first commercial happened...DAMN...an extremely This-Will-Take-A-While-To-Settle-Down-In-My-Head feeling...a cross between good and bad, more inclined towards the latter, actually, because the response of the Jhalak Reality Team to Bhagyashree's accusation that they wanted gossip and rivalry instead of dance, really seems to have been this week's Ants-In-Their-Pants phenomenon...😎
for those who didn't watch, the entire first segment tonight was a caustic, almost vicious reply of the Jhalak Reality Team to all the contestants who apparently claim that they twist the truth by editing clips...and strangely enough, they chose to pick very directly on two people who have been controversial material, yes, but have never denied having said what they said...so why exactly the Jhalak Team chose to 'reply' to questions they never raised...beats me...and so, the two obvious choices : Gauhar and Karan...the Kameeni and the Playboy, apparently...😳
First, Gauhar...Rohit says that she made a number of "snide remarks" about Parul and alot of the other contestants, and she cannot call it a false portrayal of herself, coz she really did say those things...and worry not, for the Jhalak troops seemed armed for battle, ready to launch a barrage of VT clips to prove that Gauhar cannot contest her portrayal as false...my issue with it : she never denied saying any of that...all she said was that it was put out of context, which, no matter how many VTs they launch like bullets at her, still remained exactly that in today's episode...isolated statements from different interviews...and yes, they were self-assertive and slightly arrogant, but i don't think that was her point at all, when she said that she's portrayed as a 'Type' on the show, just like everyone else...she's never denied being the way she is, at least i appreciate that in her...people might find it offensive, but at least she says what she has to, to your face...the issue she raised regarding 'Types' was about how ONLY that part of her is portrayed, just like Karan's flirting, minus rehearsal footage, in the first few episodes...slightly different, don't you think...?
Second, Karan...the one guy who has NEVER even spoken about the way he is 'portrayed', to use Gauhar's term...he's always been the self-confessed flirt, and whenever questions were asked about him and Nicole, they both chose to remain quiet, a bid not to fuel the deliberately lit fire...but all that comes to nothing when a third person raises an accusation and pinches Jhalak with a needle in their bum...so they move to the second person they have made a 'Type' of...and show the same AV, with and without background music, to ask people to feel if there's any difference...and this comes why? because Karan answers a question saying that "if you guys slow down a gesture and fill it with background music, that can be termed editing, but NOT the rest of it..." and what does he get for being the one who, for a change, Doesn't question them? two VTs making him look more Playboyish than ever, and there's an end of it...the smug We-Triumph stand...Hence Proved...my issue : he never said you made a false 'type' of him, or that you twisted the truth...so your point is...?? 🤔
And so the entire segment leaves me with a slightly sour taste in my mouth, and a humongous Question Mark hovering above my head...such degree of Defence in Battlements...and this was why, again...? 😕
Thankfully, Hard Kaur came to my rescue, when she said that she comes here to dance, and go home...full stop...I'm The Coolest...and that's that...let's see what you can do with it...my view : YOU GO GIRL!! 😎
But the sour taste still remains...was there really such dire need to clarify why they do what they do...such desperation...?? and at the cost of those who are competing on the DANCE show, some of whom never raised any questions or objections, but were dragged in just for being on random VTs...? 😳
Strange are the ways of the world...of Reality Shows more like...oh well...
Do write in with your point of view...and PLEASE...this is NOT a thread to Bash people - celebrities, choreographers and fellow members alike...kindly stick to the topic instead of picking out instances to bash...this is a humble request for a healthy discussion...
