Hmmm so this is my newest one shot, I thought about this on the train in the morning, and no, NO ONE was on the train that made me think of it...but the concept is kinda weird, I hope it makes sense, Ravzie did proof it for me. But as always I want good old fashioned hard core honesty! 😃 Thanks guy, I trust you okay! 😛
Enjoy! 😃
Ever since his wedding had been finalized with Meher, Preet didn't know how to feel. He knew Ash had left him; but that didn't mean he didn't hurt over her. He had thought she was 'the one' for him.
Bauji had asked him what he felt about marriage and reluctantly Preet had said he wanted to get married, but to whomever his parents wanted. When they suggested Meher, Preet was a little shocked. Only because he had never imagined Meher as his wife; she was always his friend, the girl he could confide in. The only thing he couldn't confide in her with was his feelings towards their upcoming marriage; somewhere deep down though, he knew that this marriage was the best idea; Meher really was the best person for him. She was cute, sweet, not to mention beautiful.
In Dino, Dil Mera, Mujhse Hai Keh Raha
Tu Khwab Saja, Tu Jee Le Zara
Hai Tujhe Bhi Ijhaazat, Karle Tu Bhi Mohabbat
Yet somewhere in his mind, his greatest fear regarding this marriage was Ash. He knew that she had become like her mother, all bitter towards him but that didn't stop him from wondering if she'd come to try and stop this marriage. He felt like with her, he had given it his all. He wanted to be happy with her, but now she had gone ahead and ruined it. He had always thought that their love was pure--but then when she had confronted him and told him she was just acting for money, it broke his heart. The first time he had actually let down his shield and let someone close to him, and he had been betrayed.
"Meher! Neeche aajao! Mehndi ka waqt ho raha hain," He hears Heer bhabhi call up the stairs.
He tries peeking out of his room but right then Prem comes in and stops him. "Kya kar raha hain?"
"Kuch nahin PB." Preet shrugs, and goes back to playing with Vikas. "Aur agar Kul di tumhe dood pilane ki koshish kare, to tum kya karoge?"
Vikas pretends to think and then giggles. "Main bhaag kar aapke paas aajaonga!"
"Arre nahi!" Preet hits his head. "Tum Prem mamu ke paas jaoge,"
"Oye! Mere paas kyun?" Prem asks sitting down with Preet.
"Kyunki di aapko kuch nahin kehti," Preet wiggles his eyebrow. "Aap sabke laadle bete ho na, isiliye,"
"Woh to hain," Prem winks at him before leaving his room.
How unfair is that? PB gets to stay with the girls during the mehndi lekin main nahin jaa sakhta...shayad wohi theek hota. He didn't know how he'd feel seeing Meher now. For the last few days he'd been seeing her blush every time he'd glance at her; seeing the red rush up to her cheeks would make his heart start to beat faster.
This was something he hadn't experienced with Ash ever before or any other girl. That realization hit him hard. Was this was PB meant when he said he was in love with Heer Bhabhi? Seeing her so much yet never feeling that you'd have enough? That was something he definitely never felt with Ash, or any of the numerous girls in Canada. Was this was everyone called--love? Was Preet Juneja finally falling in love? Then was Ash just an infatuation? He had to get the whole thing out of his head. Whatever happened now in the future....he'd deal with it somehow, he knew he would.
Berang Si Hai Badi Zindagi... Kuchh Rang To Bharoon
Main Apani Tanahaayi Ke Waaste Abbb Kuchh Toh Karoon
She heard Heer di call her down, but she wasn't finished getting ready. She put on her teeka and then looked at her reflection in the mirror thinking that whoever penned that quote, 'when life closes one door it opens a window' was right. That's how Meher felt about this whole situation with Preet. She loved Harman, but she never had the opportunity to tell him before he announced to everyone that he was marrying his long time girlfriend from Canada, Maya. At first Meher felt betrayed, but then she remembered a line from a movie. 'tumne pyar karne se pehle shart to nahin rakhi thi ke woh bhi tumse pyaar kare,' she had no right to be upset with him. Harman was allowed to life his own life, and she was allowed to live hers; or so she thought. When Lalit uncle had asked her about becoming his daughter by coming into his family, Meher had no choice but to say yes. Somehow she knew though, Preet would make her happy. He was always smiling, and making her feel better. She had faith in Lalit uncle and Gayatri aunty, woh jo bhi faisla karenge woh bilkul theek hi hoga. Aur sabse badi baat, Heer di was also married into this family; she'd always have someone with her.
Jab Mile Thodi Fursat, Mujhse Karle Mohabbat
Hai Tujhe Bhi Ijhaazat, Karle Tu Bhi Mohabbat
*crack* Meher turns around startled at the sound of something coming from the corner. She quickly gathers up her lengha and takes a one of the vases on her table with her towards the corner of her room. "Kaun hain?"
She sees a figure move in the darkness and so she quickly starts hitting him with the vase.
"Ouch! Tumhare haath hain ke hathora?" She hears a familiar voice so she backs up startled, and switches on the lights. "Preet? Tum?"
Preet starts rubbing his shoulder and then looks at the vase in her hand. "Tum mujhe vase leke maar rahi thi?"
Meher backs away and nods. "Sorry,"
"Tumhe laga ke main chor tha?" Preet asks and Meher nods. "Pagal ho tum bhi.
"Aye, mujhe pagal mat bolo," she stalks off to finish putting on her bangles.
"Kyun nahin? Agar tum pagal ho--to pagal hi kahunga," Preet retorts staring at her reflection in the mirror.
"Aacha? To tum yeh batao, ke tum yahaan kya kar rahe ho?" Meher asks.
"Mujhe tumse kuch poochna tha," Preet says quietly. Meher turns around and faces him but to her surprise he leans down on his knees. "I want to know ke tum sach much is shaadi se khush ho na?"
Meher immediately looked down and for some reason Preet felt tortured not to be able to just take her in his arms.
Usko Chupa Kar Main Sabse... Kabhi Le Chalu Kahin Dur...
Aankhon Ke Pyaalon Se Peeta Rahoon.... Uske Chehre Ka Noor
"Tum khush ho?" Meher asks, finally looking up.
Preet was surprised with her question to his question. "Kya matlab?"
"Main tumhe jawab doon, isse pehle mujhe jaana hain ke tum iss shaadi ke baare mein kya sochte ho," Meher says slowly. "Mujhe pata hain ke--tum Ashlesha se--" She trails off not being able to say the words she was thinking in her head. Love, I know you loved her...
Preet smiles at her, making her insides melt. She could tell he was thinking of the right thing to say to her, and so she looked away. Was this love what she was feeling for him? She knew that seeing his eyes look away from her, felt weird. As if he was trying to hide something from her.
"Main ab Ash ke baare mein nahin sochta," Preet said those words and Meher felt herself elevated.
"Sach?" Meher unwillingly starts smiling which causes Preet to smile back and nod.
"Aur tum?"
Meher looks down and then back into his eyes, those eyes that were forever holding onto hers.
"Meher! Neecha aajao! Kitni der lagati ho tum!" Heer shouts up the stairs. "Agar tum do minute mein nahin aayi to main aajaongi,"
Meher looks at the door and gets up and starts walking towards it until Preet grabs her arm and turns her back to face him. "Jab tak tum jawab nahin deti, main tumhe jaane nahin doonga,"
"Preet, mujhe jaane hoga," Meher says, trying to get out of his grip. Why was it in their relationship that she felt so comfortable with him.
"Jawab dedo... jaane dunga," Preet smiles.
Iss Zamane Se Chup Kar, Poori Karlu Main Hasrat
Hai Tujhe Bhi Ijhazat, Karle Tu Bhi Mohabbat
Meher looks up at him and smiles. "Mujhe yeh shaadi se koi problem nahin hain,"
"Sach?" Preet asks, tracing his finger down from her hairline to her chin.
Meher nods and starts blushing, while struggling to get out of his grip. "Jaane do na Preet."
Preet shakes his head. "Tum meri honewali biwi ho,"
"To?" Meher asks.
"Main tumhare saath aisa kar sakhta hoon,"
"Achaa?" Meher asks.
"Bilkul. Tumhe nahi pata? PB aur Heer bhabhi bhi yeh sab kuch karte the,"
Meher giggles and Preet takes this to his advantage and pulls her in closer. "Meher--I know that we both had some problems with love in the past, but together--we'll be able to make it work."
Meher knew he was right. Their love would last.
