Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss 19 might launch with a twist, what’s cooking ahead of August 24?

Just ahead of Bigg Boss 19’s official launch, the makers are reportedly working on something unexpected. A special episode titled Agni Pratiksha is said to be in the pipeline, and if sources are to be believed, it might premiere a day before the show’s actual grand premiere.

According to a report by Telly Chakkar, this pre-launch episode is not part of the usual television broadcast. Instead, it’s expected to stream exclusively on JioCinema (formerly JioHotstar) on August 23. The main premiere is scheduled for August 24. If this plan goes through, it would mark the first time in the show’s history that an episode airs before the season officially kicks off.

While there’s no official confirmation yet, the buzz suggests this is part of a fresh approach by the makers to re-energise audience interest before the main season starts. Bigg Boss, now in its 19th edition, has often introduced twists mid-season, but a full episode in advance would be new territory.

The promo for Bigg Boss 19 was recently unveiled, featuring Salman Khan in a politician’s avatar. Dressed in traditional attire, he introduces a theme that hints at political dynamics within the Bigg Boss house this year.

Commenting on the theme, Salman said, “I’ve been a part of Bigg Boss for a long time, and as we all know, the game evolves every year, and it’s gharwalo ki sarkar. And when too many people start pulling the threads, things will get nasty. That’s when the cracks appear and the house transforms into a combat zone. After all these years, I can honestly say that I’m as excited as you are to see how it all turns out.”

As for the possible contestant list, names doing the rounds include Gurucharan Singh from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, influencer Apurva Mukhija, Mr Faisu aka Faisal Shaikh, Dhanashree Verma, Meera Deosthale, and Bhavika Sharma.

With just weeks left, all eyes are now on August 23 and whether Agni Pratiksha turns out to be the prelude fans didn’t know they were waiting for.
