‘DANCE INDIA DANCE’ YA ‘DHOKA INDIA DHOKA’

I have been watching episodes of DID and its very evident that the producers of the show have lost track of what the show is all about. It is now more a show where the choreography of the judges is showcased instead of focusing on the talent of the contestants. For the sake of votes the contestants tutored by their mentors are resorting to playing on emotions, stunts, unsafe acts jeopardizing their life's in some cases.

The channel too may be involved in getting cheap publicity for itself in a fight for TRP ratings. Last week some sick journalist posted an article saying that one of the dance act choreographed was more a Kama sutra act. This was even before the show was telecast. He by posting such an article in the forum whipped up so much frenzy among the forum community. After watching the show we realized that it was no where even close to what was described. 🤢

As the show ramps up to finding India's best talent it would be really good if the show is focused on talent itself and talent alone and not as members of Terence ki toli, Remo ki goli, Geeta maa ki boli, or Mithunda ki topi. 😆

Every week the contestants have a theme and they have to perform to their theme helped by their mentors. From the contestants that are left the producers of the show should draw lots with the names of the three choreographers. The contestant will draw from the lot and will be choreographed by the name picked up from the lot. Which contestant was choreographed by whom will not be made public and hence the JANTA can then vote based on the dance act and theme rather than on emotions or voting for the judges.

This is just a suggestion to set high standards for ourselves and to draw the real talent from India without any MILAVAT. 😲

Wow I do agree with you...Any contestant with any choreographer would have been much better. But the producers want drama, votes to rake money. With ppl voting the true winner will never be the winner.

wow, u have a REALLY good point. Now that I think abt it, we ARE looking at the contestants in terms of their group. Hmm, like when a contestant comes to perform, I have in mind that let's see what Terence or Remo or Geeta have prepared this time, NOT what Alisha, or Mangesh, or Sunita has prepared this time. Interesting observation, but I think the reason for this is that the mentors are the ones choreographing the acts, so when we look at a good/bad performance, we give the credit to the mentors, coz afterall, it is the work of their brain. Now, if contestants were choregraphing their own performances, then I think we would DEFINITELY notice the contestants more than the mentors. Like, after I read somewhere that Jai helps Terence with choreographing his acts, then I started paying more attention to his talent, and watch his performances carefully coz I know that he himself has given a lot of input.
and yes, it will be cool if each contestant perform on the coreography given by different mentor and we don't disclose who was the choreographer for this act, but I think it'll take away the credit from the choreographer who put so much effort into putting together a performance, and also I think these contestants develop a sort of emotional relationship with their mentor and it'll be hard for them to adjust now.

producer ko paise kamane ki jaldi hai, judges ko wah-wah lene ki jaldi hai, GM ko grand salute dene ki jaldi hai....iss sab mein bechare contestants bali ke bakre ban gaye hain ..

as they say, "no pain, no gain" , in this case contestants are in pain while the producers in gain 😔

I think it's a nice and refreshing format....though it's about the contestants at the same time it is also about the mentors and their reputation....And if u see today's episode you will see that all the contestants this time were choreographed by Geeta, I'm hoping next time it will be Remo or Terence....

And it is not that the contestants don't want to try out different things....everyone wants to win so they are all doing different things...

We should appreciate the efforts put by the production house, the channel, the contestants and the mentors...instead of criticizing them....it's a different concept and the 1st one in India....people all over the world are watching the show and liking it for it's diversity....

At least in this show we don't see contestants fighting/slapping/bad mouthing about each other on stage....

Liking the change on television, hope we get to see different reality shows in the future :)

Luck n Love
