AMITABH TO PLAY JIM CORBETT

Now, director Priyadarshan is ready to make the first thriller of his career. So far, he has been known for comedies. He has titled his next 'Grrr', and based it on the man-eating tigers of Sunderbans. But more significant is that Amitabh Bachchan will be playing the coveted role of Jim Corbett. You may recall that Corbett was a colonel in British Indian Army, and famous for having killed many man-eating tigers in the jungles of Kumaon in North India under the British Raj. He was also a conservationist who stressed the need to save forests and wild life.

Amitabh isn't new for Priyadarshan inasmuch as the latter has already directed Big B in several advertisements, but 'Grrr' would be his first film with the superstar. The director proudly announces that he couldn't think of any other star except Amitabh to play the role of the fearless Jim Corbett. Keeping in view the sentiments of the animal lovers, the director has also decided to shoot the film with animatronics (robotic tigers) rather than the real ones. So, the family and the fans of Amitabh Bachchan needn't apprehend any fear about the safety of their hero.
