Its a really bad film. And Aftab is so not an actor. I want to see Aamna more on the small screen with something better than on the big screen which such a useless movie.! I did say its just worth a ** star film!! Damnn!!

Aloo Chat: Chat with no masala!

By: Sumana B Jayanth
Film: Aloo Chat

Starring: Aftab Shivdasani, Aamna Sheriff, Khulbushan Kharbanda

Director: Robby Grewal

Verdict: **

Aloo chat with all its trailers promised a lot of humour and I expected some serious comedy. But what they showed in the promos were the only set of witty dialogues in the movie. One more mishandled comedy in Bollywood!

The movie is as dragging and boring as its lead actors. Nikhil (Aftab! He needs to do something more then just smiling!!!) who is studying in the USA, falls in love with a Muslim girl, Aamna (Aamna sheriff), also settled there.
But when he returns to India he doesn't know how to break the news and take the approval of his conservative parents and beeji, who are extremely religious. So in order to twist the things according to his wishes, Nikhil plays a game along Aamna and couple of others, so that she is accepted at home. What follows is a series of confusion, which should have had lot of humour, but unfortunately the confusion prevails. But the humour doesn't come out!

Aloo Chaat is bland, and lacks the basic elements of a good comedy flick. Aamna should have stuck to her K serials. A comedy debut is definitely not her forte. She should realise this is not one more K serial where she can cry and romance! Aftab, as we all know, has a long way to go. If you want to watch the whole movie it is just because of Khulbushan Karbanda (as Purushottam), the strict father, and Manoj Pahwa. They are as good as ever.

Don't spoil your system with this "not so theeka" chat!!!

MY REVIEW
this movie is jst like an indian drama...the going ons are sooo predictable..u know wat wuld happen next and the pace is sooo slow...jst the first 10 minutes of the movie and u start yawning...the boring introductions of the characters and the unnecessary scenes...most of the scenes are unwanted and there are weird scenes which u jst dont understand and which are simply there to extend the duration of the film ..
the screenplay is PATHETIC ...no marks for it...it completely tests ur patience..the story is water thin...and the direction jst makes it worse...
infact the director is hell confused and it shows the way he has handled the movie...coming to the jokes..seriously i hardly laughed while seeing this movie..none of the jokes work..
the acting is weak too...aftab is strictly ok..makes me wonder wat made him produce a movie like this though...amna proves that she can only be a TELEVISION ACTRESS...movies are completely not for her...she was expressionless in most of the scenes..hardly had anyfin to do...and she cant dance even..in short she was a big big dissappoinment..i thot she acted soo well in her play may be she wuld act good in the movie too but no she simply didnt...
in short aalo chaat tests ur patience and has a lame story wid an even lame ending and is extremely slow paced and boring..for those who havent watched plz dont even bother to waste ur money on it..its better to watch it for free...no money should be spent on this aalo chaat ..its tasteless

i completely agree.. such a waste of time.. very very slow and too predictable.. jokes are all stale.. and acting, way below average.. everything gone wrong, simply.. great review, btw..
