Oh, wasn't there another issue recently where folks were rallying against this university teaching a course on homosexuality?
Not sure. 😳btw, we had a debate on DM long time ago where the topic was Should Sex Education Be Mandatory In Schools. Bahut chaku chhuriyaan chalee thheen wahan against those who supported the idea😆 Now, you can very well imagine majority's take on this issue😆See here term 'sex ed' - means teaching about Sex/Contraception - i guess debate you mentioned is talking/referring to homosexuality then - if so please close this one Mods. 😃I, personally, think that yes. Kids should be taught about sexuality and homosexuality so that they don't grow up having misconceptions about either.See, i agree to some extent it should be taught to avoid mis conceptions - but on comfort level there will be lots uncomfortable with idea of Homosexuality also Hetrosexual-ity won't be taught will it, just about Homosexuality.....also some parents dont want children from early age to be exposed to it, fine if they pick it up on playground but don't want it to be taught - School's are already overworked. There is absoloutely no way it can be fitted in apart from in debating classes/personal social health ed classes.
We treat the school system like it is an entity; when in fact, it is a system of people. People with their own beliefs on subjects such as homosexuality, sex, religion, politics and even what is considered good manners these days.
When you expect the school system to educate your children on issues such as homosexuality, you are allowing someone else to instill their views onto your children the way they see them, what they believe and how they were taught.
It is our responsibility as parents to guide our children. While that in and of itself is based on our view points, our beliefs and how we were taught; it is the core of who we are and what we believe our children should be. Having said that, when teaching our children, we owe it to them to be as knowledgeable and open minded ourselves; again as we are to guide them. Guiding them means allowing them to form their own ideas, own understanding and providing them with a foundation to make their own decisions. Giving them the ability of strong cognitive reasoning provides them a structure in which they will continue to grow into productive, contributing members of society as it evolves from generation to generation.
Today, our children are exposed to many issues and homosexuality is just one them. They are challenged everyday with understanding drug use or abuse, sexual promiscuity, pregnancy, marriage, divorce, puberty, alcohol use or abuse, issues on religion, race, politics with the current war, and death; to name a few. Put that on top of academics, friendships, sports and learning basic personal hygiene and it can be quite stressful to be child these days.
So let your children go to school to learn, play, and make friends and guide them at home. Don't allow someone else to impose their beliefs or morality views on your children. They are already influenced by T.V., movies, video games and their friends. Help them to learn what is right and wrong for them and they will continue to make the best decisions for their lives
Which skl are you going to Anon? Be careful ahahahah j/ks
How old was the dude? I mean guessing 20 years old, all I would put to him will be - Encouraging gayism just because you are gay, implies you want everyone to be a gay? Yes / No
1. NO - "Why?" based on answer take it from there.. lol
2. YES - BINGO!! "
20 years ago, if what you are striving for was accomplished then you wouldn't have been standing here and blabbering. SO let it be what it is and focus on the next term Boy!"
OK! I read somewhere when we were discussing on 'Gay Gene' here that in most cases Gayism is an end result of abuse / bad childhood, ask him if it's not too late for that and we can get started now?
Before I am misunderstood ^^ was just in humor. My stand on gayism is that I don't endorse it but at the sametime respect individuals life decisions.

Lolsss i don't want people from forum hunting me down and killing me for thinking am a homophobe when i am not [=)] Nah my school apprently are doing free chlamydia tests because symtoms aren't detected until too late and can cause infertility- i dunno probs secretly drug testing the sports academy people 😆😆😆 i dunno i did get a letter from health people on it, i opened it and gave it to mum, never even bothered to read 😆😆😆 Maybe they want to test the gays 😆😆 j/k...

😆😆😆True that, no idea on age but Gay peope tend to think they are right/always justifying their stand etc - Gayism propaganda 😆 If they just did their buisnes rather than thrust their views on everyone, no one would have a problem with it - but because they have to spread it about in your face thats why people have problems.20 years ago, if what you are striving for was accomplished then you wouldn't have been standing here and blabbering. Lolssss Nice POV, 😆Lekhin am asking shuld it be taught in school...did i miss your answer😳
Not sure if this Particular debate has come before, you may close if it has/not appropriate. Friends told me this debate was on news today - Can't find any news artices on it, must just have been discussion - not sure what channel here but:
Should Homosexuality be taught in schools? Absolutely not.Apparently there one guy - and one girl debating this. The man was arguing yes it should be (as he was Gay) and the women was really against it (obviously a homophobe too sitting as far away from him as she could). Ahh, this generalization makes me wrinkle my nose in frustration. Her debate was lame saying that Schools shoukd teach peace, kindness etc etc well its not like School's teach us to kick one another😆😆 but what a waste anyways....
It has nothing to do with peace and kindness, gay"ism" (Sorry, RTH 😆) does not preach violence as far as I'm aware. There is, however, a very well formed counterargument against this practice, but bringing peace and kindness into it is ridiculous.Obviously he was arguing for the motion. I can't remember his points since morning but basically i only remember he said that he learnt in the playground at school aged 7/8 what a lesbian was. That Kids should be educated in it rather than be told by parents its wrong etc etc.
So what, you also learn the "F" word at the age of 7/8, does it make it acceptable for kids to use it?So your views? Should it be taught in schools - if yes from what age?
I don't think that homosexuality should be taught in schools, first of all because its outlawed in most states in the US ... sorry, not aware of worldwide views on gayism (Btw, Firefox is mad at me for using this term, it appears as misspelled every time I write it 😆). Anyways, if somethings that's outlawed is being preached in schools, I would think that it is unacceptable. If homosexuality is being taught, then why not all those other things that the government outlaws, ie, I dunno ... murder? Oh lord, I see a thousand spears coming my way at once. 😆
Of course, governmental policies usually aren't used to define ethics, so I'll shift gears now. Quite honestly, I'm scared of the day where Disney channel will decide to educate kids on this issue and perhaps then Zack and Cody won't be brothers, and Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus will be two different girls. Even today, I cringe when ABC family attempts to display its approval by showing long kissing scenes between two guys, call me homophobic if you will. Its just not something I can comprehend.
What I don't understand is why are those who practice homosexuality seeking approval from society? What is it that compels them to come out in public and repeatedly explain themselves. I don't care what they do behind closed doors, so just keep it there.
Fine let's say for a second (only for a second, okay?😆) that homosexuality is something found in nature and maybe Adam and Steve can't help but have a thing for each other, okay? Now, can't we all agree that that is the exception rather than the rule? If something like this occurs in nature, and we accept it, that's fine, but why is there a need to make that exception a rule? Why are they so hell-bent on trying to promote this practice?
Teaching homosexuality in schools is simply another hidden agenda, aiming to seek followers, and attempting to seek approval. And that's what makes my blood rage.

I don't care what they do behind closed doors, so just keep it there. So that they get accepted just like heterosexual couples are accepted in the society. So that they get to live as spouses with all legal rights that come with marriage. So that heterosexuals stop treating them like lepers or freaks. Question here is why the heck do they need to explain or hide in the first place? Why are their rights lesser or inferior than other human beings?

Why are they so hell-bent on trying to promote this practice?I always have issues with finding strength in numbers. Majority, at times, means all fools on one side. Just because homosexuals are in minority, they don't need to be treated differently. All they are asking for is equality. If discriminating against them is okay then discriminating against all minorities should be okay. Asking for equality is not promoting minority. Secure people should not get paranoid just because someone has a different way of living than theirs. I fail to understand why homosexuals should be forced to live in closets for their whole entire life.
Teaching homosexuality in schools is simply another hidden agenda, aiming to seek followers, and attempting to seek approval. And that's what makes my blood rage.I disagree. It's not like teaching or preaching religion where more the better. It's more about equality and removing misconceptions than looking for budding converts. Like I said, if one is secured and confident about their orientation then they should not feel threatened by others. If they are not secured or sure to begin with then they should have knowledge on their side so that they can figure out where on the spectrum do they fall.
