True but an average Indian or for that matter even an average American never has that. I disagree on the bit about Bollywood showing traditional Indian values though. Just watch any Emraan Hashmi movie and you'll know what I mean. Yes, not every Bollywood movie is the same but just take Salaam Namaste for example-granted it was set abroad but since when is live-in relationships part of any aspect of Indian culture? A lot of the things shown in some movies would rarely ever happen in any corner of India.
India is advancing and that too at a very fast rate, just not as fast as what is shown in our bollywood movies or hollywood movies.
Although there's no harm in every Indian wishing that they too become like srk in K3G and be dropped in a helicopter to get home for pooja lol.😛
Yeah, but since when have we had reality movies in B&Hwoods? Village belles dancing around trees, only to get raped by a villain if they had the bad luck to to be the hero's sister, coolie making it big, smugglers coming in on every boat, hero beating up a gang of 20 baddies, slum dogs jumping in a pile of whateva to see a star, ETs landing on earth, James Bond landing multiple quickies in short order, creatures flying up buildings..
Point is i am talking about values, not outward manifestation/ scenes depicting imbedded values. The sets and scale are more lavish today, but the values seem to be still there. There's not much wrong with the values.
Imraan Hashmi kind movies are another matter but they are not pervasive. Even then, they only reflect the more open society we have today. Call it breakdown of Indian values, but i'd say it's a break from the shackled suppressed society we had olden times. Women must have had unhappy marriages before and they had no option but to stick it out even after harsh abuse.... Some changes have been good. Women at least have the opportunity in some corners to walk out, find comfort in the arms of another etc.
