Indeed, Tarulataben is so loud and disrespectful. I don't like the way she screams and yells about everything. The way she moves her mouth and screams makes it seems like she is spitting as she is speaking.
She is also right about lower cast issue in her own way. That is what she learned all her life and lived it. It is hard to change at her age. I am sure her edjucation level is also not too high and has not see life outside her village much. Most of us have past that stage of cast system and probably have not expiernced it first hand. Taruben is a much dramatized version of cast system but it is still happenning today to a level. It is more prevelen in lower edju. people.

You are absoluetly right about Asiya.. That one day in the show, has extended to around 2+ weeks on tv.. And Asiya has probably had a total of 7-8 lines in the past 2 weeks.. Yet she's expressed the distress that Santo has faced perfectly, her body language, her eyes have done what her mouth hasn't... For eg, the way she was sitting in viRAT's house, her body language itself was so submissive, we cvan imagine how her state of mind must've been...

Though people like you and me may be in the minority, but I myself have come across a lot of EXTREMELY prejudiced people who make the lives of other people who dont QUITE think/act according to them , HELL!

I know sukhi.. Down south, its really hard to escape the caste differences if not existing blatantly in society, but existing in the mindfs of people...Thats why I'm kinda glad, Ekta decided to portray this kind of a character instead of those plastic ones.. They were evil, without any reason for being so.. Here is a woman, who has been with this sort of mindset for the past 50 odd years of her life, she cant expected her to undergo a sudden change na.. She will probably change or soften a bit, but that is going to take a lot of time...

Yes many oeioke will dismiss her as a stereotype .. but atleast she's not the kind of the over-exposed stereotypes we get to watch .. she does not seem regressive .. she just is BLINDLY prejudiced ..

And it's time someone like Santo came to the scene, breaking the age old shackles ..

Yup.. Its gonna be a slow torturous journey for poor santo.. Taruben is a hard cookie.. She'll never give in so easily..
