In celebration mode: Shaleen & Daljit

He told us that his life had changed completely in just a few hours. He said, "For the last 20 hours I have only been receiving calls from my fans. It might sound strange, but I feel a little like a call centre employee. My inbox is also flooded with congratulatory messages from fans. What else would one ask for? It is undoubtedly the best way to get your efforts acknowledged." He also tells us that Daljit couldn't talk to us right then, as the entire experience had totally worn her out.

The couple won their crown in the glittering finale of the dance reality show, which also saw a highly charged performance by Shah Rukh Khan. Considering the pressure the jodi were under, did they have ever disagree over any issue? "Nahin. Humein kisi pe gussa nahi ata hai. Hum log Gandhiji ko bahut maante hain. Humne bahut pyaar se mehnat kari hai aur bahut mehnat se pyaar kiya hai. Koi jhagda nahin karte. Dikhte chahe kaise bhi hain, dil ke bahut achche hain hum," he laughs.

In the run-up to the final, Shaleen had also been praying hard, to ensure that everything went smoothly. He tells us, "I have been to the gurudwara, temple, in fact everywhere. My faith in that supreme power has only strengthened with this good fortune." And what is he looking forward to, now that this particular wish has been granted. "Positive roles are all that I'm keeping my fingers crossed for," says Shaleen.

However, the very next thing on his agenda is fulfiling a very personal wish. Yes, you guessed it right; all that Shaleen is now awaiting is a final nod from his father for his wedding. When we asked him when, he is expected to tie the knot with Daljit, he said, " I have to call up my dad and seek his permission. Daljit and I have performed in this reality show for our families and well wishers. All I want now is my family to dance on my wedding." And the actor declares that he will scrutinise all the dance moves of his family on the D-day. "I won't dance myself. I will simply sit on the ghodi and watch my family perform. It would be fun to don the role of a judge, similar to Farah (Khan) and Arjun (Rampal)." And Karishma? "No, not her. I'm not as good looking as she is," he laughs.
