Jugaad is based on the MCD ceiling drive in Delhi. Manoj Bajpai plays the CEO of a company that will be locked under the ceiling drive. He talks about the movie and more.
Jugaad is a well researched film about the MCD ceiling in Delhi that took place over the last couple of years. It's the true story of Sandeep Kapur's life and in the film I am playing his role. When I got the script of the film I was very convinced of the story. It's a superb blend of a tickling comedy and real life drama which occurs day to day. I learnt new things while working on this film
Like…
Like in the movie I had to look after my company when it encountered problems. The CEO that I am playing in the movie uses his connections and tries to set things straight. He also influences his employees. I can use all this knowledge in real life too.
How is R Anand Kumar as a director?
I admire his consistency about Jugaadu (arrangement) which kept us wondering about how he turns things around. There was this scene with a traffic jam and the way he managed to collect people there was incredible
We can't assume that if Delhii Heights flopped, this one will flop too. Let's face it and see what happens when the movie hits theatres. Nevertheless, the point of creating or making something is not about getting a positive response all the time but to learn from whatever the outcome is.
You have travelled a long way from a small village of Bihar. How does it feel?
As we grow older, we tend to travel and so I traveled a long way to make myself a name in Bollywood. I am glad where I am now. As a child I wanted to be an actor and today I am one so I have fulfilled my dream.
Aren't you an offbeat actor?
An actor on the whole (laughs)
But most of your roles have been offbeat…
Maybe, because everyone has a unique talent! I have an offbeat talent and I am good at that!
