Well, friends, we recently read "My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Picoult as the book of the fortnight...

She is an American author and she has been awarded New England Bookseller Award for fiction in 2003.

Besides, "My Sister's Keeper" She has written many other novels and they are:

  • Songs of the Humpback Whale (1992)
  • Harvesting the Heart (1994)
  • Picture Perfect (1995)
  • Mercy (1995)
  • The Pact (1998)
  • Keeping Faith (1999)
  • Plain Truth (2000)
  • Salem Falls (2001)
  • Perfect Match (2002)
  • Second Glance (2003)
  • My Sister's Keeper (2004)
  • Vanishing Acts (2005)
  • The Tenth Circle (2006)
  • Nineteen Minutes (2007)
  • Wonder Woman (vol. 3) #6-10 (cover date: late May 2007 - August 2007)
  • Wonder Woman: Love and Murder (2007) (hardcover volume collecting Wonder Woman #6-10)
  • Change of Heart (2008)
  • Handle With Care (2009)

Well, I have already bought Change of Heart and will be reading it soon. I want you all to think about her narrative style, her stories, her themes... and let's have an awesome discussion!

Think about the following, but by no means limit your discussion to these questions.
  • Have you read any other book by her?
  • What are your impressions of her writing?
  • What are some of the best aspects of her books (which ever ones you've read)?
Looking forward to some great discussion!

Have you read any other book by her?

Nope..never read any other book by her. I will soon though =]

What are your impressions of her writing?

I liked the way she wrote everyones POV in the book "My Sisters Keeper" ...everyones thoughts were recorded and it helped me understand the story.

  • What are some of the best aspects of her books (which ever ones you've read)?

Telling about everyones POV...how they feel, what happened in the past, etc. I cant explain it but i just liked how she formatted the story and the words she used and she knew when to use them...😳

I think Jodi Picoult is a great author in a sense that she has somewhat of a unique writing style. All of her characters get a voice, and that's one thing I just love. I love reading everyone's point of view involved... It gives so many new dimensions to the whole story.

I think the way she deals with her story is amazing too. She has humor in very serious situations too and that makes me love it! She puts in some characters whose sarcasm is just amazing and I enjoy it very much.

I have bought "Change of Heart" and I will be reading it soon... Looking forward to.

  • Have you read any other book by her?
  • Mercy, Salem Falls, The Pact, Vanishing Acts

  • What are your impressions of her writing?
  • It's very emotional and I remembered all 4 of the books for ages after I read them because they impacted me. She doesn't shy away from different, controversial themes, she makes you think about them.

  • What are some of the best aspects of her books (which ever ones you've read)?
  • I also like how she each character tells their side of their story and she is such a talented writer that you believe in each different one, whether it is a 5 year old girl or a 70 year old man
