'Daddy Dearest' Anil Kapoor produces a film for Sonam

The latest buzz doing rounds in B-town is that daddy dearest Anil Kapoor is all set to produce a film for his daughter Sonam Kapoor. And, apparently the film will be directed by good friend Farah Khan's hubby Shirish Kunder.

In an interview to a tabloid, a source close to the Kapoor family revealed, "Anil and Shirish's wife, Farah Khan, go back a long way. They've been buddies since the time Farah was choreographer for Vidhu Vinod Chopra's 1942: A Love Story (1994). When Farah decided to be a director, Anil was very encouraging and supportive. Anil has now proposed that Shirish direct his home production."

Adds the source, "The film Shirish will direct Sonam in, is based on a subject that has been very close to Anil's heart for a long time. Anil was on a look-out for the right director and it seems he has now found one."

Grapevine also has it that Anil will not be acting in the movie.

Sonam Kapoor made her debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Saawariya' opposite her 'good friend' Ranbir Kapoor. Well, mummy's yummy boy Ranbir did make space for himself in Bollywood, but Sonam did not leave a lasting impression with her performance. However, she has been seen walking the ramps for several well known designers on and off. But, that's apparently just a favour and she does claim to take her career as an actor seriously.

The daddy's girl will now be seen in 'Delhi 6' opposite Bollywood's no more a bachelor hottie Abhishek Bachcan. Well, so there's a very low scope of controversy since our Jr Bachchan boy claims to be happily married to the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

However, this is Sonam's second attempt on the big screen and we certainly wish her all the good luck!
