WOH 😲
I have had a phone for yonks and probably havent sent that many texts😆😆 Even when i got free 300 texts i used up about 60 and thats because i wasted most of them on purpose as they were free for the month.
If this is a debate on should Teens have a cell, then it depends on why you are giving them a cell.
I mean i had a cell at that age because i was going onto a different school and it was like for 'emergencies' - so if i was going to be late home or i missed the school bus etc as other siblings schools were not near so yeah at that age, if Teens have a cell use it sensibly.
This is just you know ourageous 😳 I mean get a life?
Pros and cons to everything, will list them....

Pros

Staying in touch: Again, one of the greatest advantages of giving your teenager a phone is the ability to be in instant contact with them. Emergencies: The most compelling reason to put a mobile phone in the hands of your teenager is, of course, in case of emergencies. You can go through your day feeling a lot better if you know your teen can call you when an emergency occurs.
  • Teaching responsibility: Having a mobile phone is a privilege for teens and should be treated as such. Mobile phone ownership is an opportunity for your teenager to prove they can have and take care of an expensive device.

Cons

    Cost: Distractions.
  • Stranger danger

However, its about parental responsibility - like here UK we have Pay as you go - credit the phone by however much so this pre-paid credit shows them not to waste it all as otherwise you wont credit the phone as parents and montly contracts mean that Teens are tempted to text a lot. So if they dont have this temptation its ok as PAYG means that Teen learns to be careful and teaches responsibility/looking after finances from early age.

However, this is just a bit over the top - its seriously is a case of get a life 😳
Depends on wat u class as teen ^^^ Because u sed shuld teens even have cell unless absoloutely necessary. I mean most can use pretty snesibly and just cos one is txt maniac we shuld generealise to all. I mean its IMO Parents responsibility to laid down laws and wat they put a restriction on that wont actually do anything? When they shuld actually put her on a service plan that doesnt have unlimited texts or take cell away for a bit.

LOL damn she beats me!😛😆😆

I send 20-65 txts a day :p 😆 😆 😆 thank god i too have unlimited
IDK its jus nowdays ppl r more n more using their cells phones to either use it as a MP3 player or IMing or Texting and using the internet lol😆 even i get bored of answering calls...instead i have my frens text me 😃😃

now should teens get cell phones?
I say why not?😛 I mean theres nothing wrong with texting tht much if u have an unlimited texting plan like the girl in the artile and I do BUT....if they dont hve a txting plan thats wen I think parent should come in handy...plus the company she has AT&T,,,they actually have an online account system where u can log into and see who u txted or who txted u...lol u can even see who'se giving u all those blank private calls..the numbrs dun show on ur phne but AT&T website account gets a rcrd of whos callin so parents can chck like tht on whose txting their child or callin them..wat time they called etc😳

hmmmm

well. in a way, it is not so surprising either.

a teen may speak more sentences than that to his friends.
so what, if instead of saying, he texted.
(if money is not that big issue for them)

aren't cell phones banned in classes in grade schools? In my daughter's school, they are. Kids have to switch them off during school hours.
