Dont understand why their photographs or videos put so much light that the hide their true skin colour . See below .Arent these women as pretty with their original skin itself .

I agree with you. Women in the west spend ridiculous amounts of money in attempt to get tanned, and here we have our own Bollywood females wanting to be white.

Maybe it's just the lighting, and maybe the actresses just got a tan in that photos above! I mean we can't really judge from photos!

^^xactly , why do they appear different under normal lights and under camera lights 😛 .Cant we have the same people under camera too without changing their skin colour

It is definatley an Indian thing. I remember watching Ash on Oprah Winfry show that in India women spend about a billion dollars a year on skin whitening cream. Ash also said that marriage ads will say lighter skin girl. In USA people pay to get tan. You know what they say in US is different strokes for different folks.

its not the same tan which western women pay for ...i mean that is gorgeous tan...look at deepika..i mean that is the typical bad complection which no will pay for...n then ppl say ranbir is too good for deepika...hahahah....

Deepika didn't have any make-up at all. It's the light and make-up that makes her light. I'm dark skinned but when I take pictures, my skin turns light skinned, it's the camera and make-up that makes them lighter.

I know lots of bollywood actresses who uses light cream though including Diya mirza who endorses the product of lighter cream.
