 Actress Deepika Padukone has turned into a goddess on her birthday! You might wonder if this is about her character in one of her forthcoming films. But actually it isn't. Neither is she playing any character of a goddess in a film nor her fans have planned a temple for her. In fact, attired in a black sari and posing with a trishul with both hands, the model-turned actress, who turns twenty-three today, will soon be spotted in Dabboo Ratnani's much hyped celebrity calendar for 2009. With stars like Shah Rukh Khan and other well-known faces of Bollywood, Deepika who's awaiting the release of Chandini Chowk to China will be seen weaving her magic on the calendar. Even King Khan, who she debuted opposite in Om Shanti Om, has acquired a very refreshing look for Dabboo's shoot.One of the most popular portrait and celebrity photographers in India, Dabboo has the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Michael Jackson, Boris Becker, Shahrukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Sachin Tendulkar, Sanjay Dutt, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Preity Zinta, Kareena Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Rahul Dravid, Sania Mirza (whew!) vying for his camera's attention. Revealing more details about the special calendar, Dabboo says, "This is my tenth calendar shoot in a row. I want to make this calendar something to be remembered for times to come. I am using various styles, and experimenting with different aspects of photography. It's special to me because this is my tenth one. I don't want this to look like even a bit repetitive, so I am giving it a lot of variety." Besides Deepika and Shah Rukh, there is Ajay Devgan as part of the bevy of 24 Bollywood stars gracing this unique calendar. Dabboo has been known for his innovative techniques and interesting visual imagery that he surrounds his subjects with. In 2007, making water his theme. Dabboo had unveiled some brilliant pieces of photography in his calendar. Similarly in 2008, he took two stars for each month and with total 24 Bollywood stars including Hrithik, Saif, and Abhishek etc. had charmed everyone with his skill. "This time it's totally new and a very happy sort of feel one will get while watching these photos. I have tried to incorporate variety of things into this one. It's very refreshing and different from all my previous works," says the photographer. |
