sita ya we also figured out ramji and lakshman gave respect to naag pash coz it was by brahma
and yes the weapon which indrajeet used was differnt when he had tied up hanuman that also was brahmastra as brahma was at its tip
i think indrajeet wanted to feel happy that he defeated ram and lakshman
he is after all indrajeet and like ravan said ramjeet now

It is written in Valmiki Ramayan that when Laxman got fainted (for which Hanuman ji had to bring Sanjeevani booty), then Ravan tried to lift Laxman. But, knowing himself to be an ansh of Vishnu, Laxman became so heavy that forget about lifting, Ravan could not even move Laxman a little bit. But when Hanuman ji tried to lift Laxman, then out of friendly feeling towards Hanuman ji, Laxman became light and Hanuman ji could lift him easily.
This clearly proves that Laxman cannot be called a coward at all. Think over it carefully. When Laxman was unconscious, then how did he remember that he was a part of Vishnu? When he remembered that he was a part of Vishnu and when he was so strong that trilok-vijeta Ravan could not move him an inch, then how could anybody injure him?
Think over these and you will relish the sweet lilas of Ram and Laxman.
It is also written in Valmiki Ramayan that both Ram and Laxman fainted because they wanted to give respect to the weapon. This statement clearly proves that Ram and Laxman were not week. Rather it shows their greatness.

may b indrajeet wanted to give a more painful death to ram-lakshman by using naag-pash as slowly those snakes were sucking the life of ram-lakshman.
these r just my guesses !!

can be possible that what i was thinking .....may be for painful death...
@sharath rocha how can lakshmanji be coward........did he left with any other option........if he did n't take this step than Inderjeet would be victorious...and if Inderjeet was abides by law ........if that is the case that he follow the rules...then he would not do the yagya thing and to gain that immortal factor ....if some body is more powerful than anyone then it will not call war because is always between two level person ....if one is stronger and other is not so how come its a war of level........and how come lakshman is coward........on the otherhand meghnath was actually prepairing for adharam yudh by doing yag..

And one more thing. During war, many times it happened that Ram ji needed help from Hanuman ji. Ram and Laxman crossed the sea on Hanuman's shoulders. They were saved from the clutches of Ahiravan by Hanuman. Hanuman did not faint from Indrajeet's weapons but Ram and Laxman fainted.
In spite of all these, Hanuman did not think himself as mightier than Ram. Rather, he always considered Ram as worshipable.
Garud saved Ram and Laxman's lives. But Garud also never considered Ram as any less than himself.
When Hanuman and Garud considered Ram as great, who are others to raise doubts on their might.
Lord Vishnu did not need help from anybody to kill Ravan. But when he incarnated as Ram, then his devotees felt great inner happiness in doing their bit towards the purpose for which Ram-incarnation happened. Out of love for his devotees, Lord Ram took 'help' from them.

Even though it is Ramayan forum, a story from Krishna incarnation is relevant here.
When Kalyavan chased Krishna, then Krishna started running away from him. Some people may think that Krishna was week. But when you think over the story carefully, it shows the greatness of Lord Krishna. When Krishna had killed many great warriors alone, when he had killed many mighty monsters when he was just a baby, then how could he be afraid of Kalyavan?
Krishna ran away from Kalyavan for his devotee king Muchukund. Muchukund was sleeping in a cave. Krishna ran and hid in that cave. Kalyavan came and mistook Muchukund as Krishna. He kicked Muchukund. Muchukund opened his eyes and looked at Kalyavan with anger. Kalyavan got burnt when he was looked upon by Muchukund.
Then Krishna came in front of Muchukund. Muchukund worshipped Krishna and went to heaven.
When you read this story in detail, you will find that Lord Krishna wanted to give darshan to king Muchukund.

When you read stories related to Lord's incarnations, then do not need with the sole purpose of finding faults. Read seriously and contemplate upon the stories. Then you will relish the stories.
