Is it justified to have kids working in television?
Indya.com

Have we ever thought that these kids who entertain all of us on the small screen are deprived from enjoying their childhood?

They rush from school to the sets and that is how they live their diligent lives from such a small age. Many experts believe that it robs them of a normal childhood while the artists in question and their immediate circle vehemently deny such claims.

Parents of three year old Dhriti Bhatia, who plays Krishna in Jai Shri Krishna and shoots for about 6 hours a day, says their child enjoys shooting and adds to the lively atmosphere on the sets. "She loves acting and jahan tak uske bachpan ki baat hai toh wo toh set par hi bahot masti karti hai," says her dad. How ever he feels being so small, she has nothing to study as of now and so finds no problem in having her work in television. "Jab badi ho jayegi toh khud hi decide kar legi use kya karma hai," he says.

Icchha of Uttaran, Sparsh Khanchandani, shoots for about 7 hours a day. After she finishes with her school her mother rushes her to the sets. Her mother feels that it was completely the 8 year old's decision to go for acting at this stage and they have worked out the best way possible for her to do study and act. "After watching Balika's Anandi, Sparsh wanted to desperately go into acting. We've consulted her principal and teachers and by God's grace, she's a topper."

Swini Khare, the cute Chetali from Baa Bahu Baby, says she has always stood 1st in her class and she can manage her studies and shooting pretty well. "I shoot for 3 hours on an average and I thoroughly enjoy on the sets as I have many friends. The working atmosphere is too good," replies the 5th standard girl. Studies have never been a problem for her as she says, "I carry my books to the sets too".

Do YOU Think that Children should be allowed to act in T.V Shows?

It seems the children and the Parents enjoy it but the Child Rights organizations, and the Government Doesn't.

Who do you Support?

thanks for the links, there some very interesting topics, but some are quite funny?😆

i posted this because recently in India, the Maharashtra government has decided that kids can not work for more than 3 hours a day and many other restriction. But with serials like Balika Vadhu and Uttaran, these kids works almost the entire day.

A big NO from my side..the child loses it's innocence when they get exposed to this glam world...and above all their education gets effected..today they may be stars but we don't know about tomorrow.....Basic education is must....and i am really shocked to see parents allowing such small kids to act just for the sake of money and fame...

but the fact is that these kids enjoy being in the glamour world, after all who doesn't want to be famous. and the kids are not forced into working for 8 or 7 hours. it's their choice and their parents sign their contracts. most likely kids love it, no school, and u get to be on tv

My mom had seen Hansika Motwani coming out of Rakesh Roshan's office and she was crying. My mom overheard her say to her mom that someone had behaved inappropriately with her (not necessarily Rakesh Roshan, but one of his staff). Hansika was just 13 at the time. My mom was shocked to see that Hansika's mom gave her a tight slap and told her to shut up and stop crying about such things. I had heard of something similar happening to a child star called Baby Guddu too. Most times it is the parents of the artists who want to fulfill their dreams and try and do it through their children. It is sad since most children end up losing their childhood. As far as the child liking it, c'mon which child does not like attention or like coming on TV and most children will not even realize what they have lost until its too late. Children do not have the maturity to judge whats good or bad for them which is why the parents need to think about the child's interest and not let their greed for money and fame cloud their better judgement

if this happened then it is really sad. Hansika is the same actress who was in Himesh's Movie right?
ye i too think it's the parents who also want their popularity alongside with their kids. if you watch any of the kids reality shows, it's always the parents who fight with the judges never the kids. In ek se bhadkar ek, chota packet bada dhamaka, parents sometimes fight as if they are kids. they never try to understand the feelings of their kids. i bet that these kids get embarresed when their parents fight.

Yes Hansika was in Aap ka suroor. What was sad was that she was 15 when she shot for the movie. Still a child doing romantic scenes opposite an adult more than twice her age.
